My wife and I are getting all geared up to go spend 4 days and 3 nights in the San Juan Islands starting on June 5th. We have been given the use of my Uncle's cabin on Lopez Island for the stay. :) We will be celebrating our 42nd. Wedding Anniversary (on June 6th.) there and touring Lopez and San Juan Island. :)

We did a couple of days over there last September and had a Blast! This year will be more fun because my wife now has a Canon camera and lens. So I can see a very long session of photo editing when we get back! ;) :) :D

The following photo is one I took of the Cabin well after dark. I used my Canon 7D with an ISO setting of 6400, f/4 aperture, and a hand held 4 second exposure to capture the cabin in it's glory. :)

Wow, what a great cabin! That sounds like a wonderful trip. I've only been at the San Juan airport to change planes and I'd love to actually see any part of Puerto Rico. Happy anniversary!

:) Lisa,
The San Juan Islands that I'm talking about are here on the West Coast of Washington State. I never thought of the other San Juan Island in Puerto Rico. I guess I should have been more exact in the location.

Looks heavenly! 42 years.....one of you must be a good cook.. I almost made it to Lopez Island, spent a couple of days on Whidbey drove up to Annacortes to catch the ferry, but a storm came in and the Ferries weren't running.

Your Uncle.....holy smokes how old is he? :p

My Uncle is just a young guy! :) He's pushing 90 years old and still going strong! :) Actually, he isn't that many years older than me. He is slowing down a bit though, they won't let him fly planes any more, nor will they let him sail his boat over to the islands. :( But he still maintains his cabin on the island, his own home, and he works out at a gym 5 days a week. :)

My wife treats me like a Greek God. She gives me burnt offerings every time she cooks! :( ;) :D I'm the cook in our family. In fact at one time I wanted to become a Chef. :)

You really missed out on a wonderful ferry ride around the islands! :( The scenery is astounding!

Looks like a wonderful cabin for you and your honey :) have fun !

Congrats on the 30 years together! That itself is a mighty fine accomplishment these days!

I told my wife the other day that 42 years of putting up with the same woman was a fate worse than death! ;) :) :D I can't understand why she made me sleep on the couch! ;) :) :D

After 42 years of being together, you've got to give me tips on how to stay with my girl. We're working on two now....forty to go!

1. Communicate
2. Never go to bed fighting
3. Be Honest
4. Laugh together and enjoy life
5. Be Totally Committed to making it Last!

It's as simple as that! When my Dad died, he and my Mom had been married for 63 years.
