Another battery question from me,did i just overcharge?

So i bought a AW imr 18650 3.7V for my brand spanking new,very first one, provari. Well i had it in the charger (nitecore) and noticed it reads at 4.7V charged,so i took it out. Maybe a stupid question but battery says on it 3.7V and nitecore said 4.7,i is confused. Now i have yet to try my provari and im scared i overcharged the battery. Please say it aint so

Are you sure it read 4.7 or 4.2 in the charger?

4.2 is the max the charger should charge the battery to.

It ain't so.

It's fine. The 3.7V is what the approximate voltage will be over the "life" of the charge, starting out high (4.2) until it drains down to ~3.3V and the mod tells you low battery.
