Another battery question...

Will the Tenergy RCR123A 3.0v 900mAh batts work in place of the Trustfire 16340 3.6v batts in a regulated 5v application? Tenergy seem to be the better, safer battery.

Edit: same question about the Tenergy LifePO4 RCR123A 3v 750mAh.

the max drain rating on those tenergy are <550mA.. might want to take a look at that

there's AW 3V LiFePo4 (500mAh) 16340 that have a much higher max drain rating (<4.4A)
same with the new 1000mAh 3.2V LiFePo4 that eastmall is carrying (<5A)

it was more really a take a real close look at the max drain rate of your batteries...
I do know that really the 3V yellow tenergy LiFePo4 are kinda crap in all reality...

let's say you're using a 510 atty at 5V...your amp draw is at 2.17A ... the max drain rate on the Tenergy 3V LiFePo4 are <.55A

So you're horribly overstressing them and while they wont vent flames...if you don't really watch them that overstressing will kill em quick and might cause em to vent some gas...

both the other 3V LiFePo4 (the AW LiFePo4 and the 3.2V LiFePo4 that eastmall is now carrying) have much higher max drain rates that you arent going to exceed

I'm starting to think the "standard" *****fire CR123A are the way to go....this is all too much math for me at such a late hour after work LOL

And I wouldn't have to buy a new charger LOL

if it were my choice I'd go with stacked 3.7V LiMN high drain CR123a and regulate it down to 5V...wouldn't need a new charger for those either and they way outperform the *fire brands
