Hello everyone,

Just thought I'd hop in and introduce myself. My name's Mike and I've been using traditional ciggies for probably about 15 years now. I've tried quitting multiple times in the past, and none of the methods I tried ever stuck for more than a month. I'd tried the patch, the gum, inhalers, medication, support groups, and cold turkey. I'd come to the conclusion that I was just too hooked on the entire experience, even though I feel extremely guilty every time I light up.

Anyway, a friend of mine on a visit from the States introduced me to e-cigs a while back, as he was using one to help him quit. I thought to myself, "What a great idea", did a bunch of research (well, some research anyway...) and concluded that I couldn't find something like that in Canada, and if I tried to order one then customs would just cause me no end of grief, and just put it to the back of my mind.

Fast-forward to about two weeks ago. I'd started thinking again about e-cigs after seeing a disposable one for sale at my local gas station. I did more research, found this forum and an absolute king's ransom's worth of answers and advice. Long story short, I'm currently awaiting shipment of an eGo kit and some juice and am looking forward to hopefully being able to stick with a quit this time.

Cheers!

Mike

Hi everyone! Thanks so far for the warm welcomes. I don't think I've ever seen a group of people with a more positive outlook on the whole giving up analogs thing.

Bob - I couldn't tell you for sure, since I only had a couple of hauls off of his (a very nice vanilla flavour) while we were outside so I could fuel my habit. (This was also 3 years ago.) From what I've read as a lurker here, people seem to recommend hydration while vaping, and I'm pretty sure propylene glycol is used as a desiccant, so it might be attracting the moisture from your mouth. (I like to make a lot of guesses based on a partial picture, so anyone please correct me if I'm wrong.)
