I've been filling cartos for a few weeks now, probably correctly. I've been through many tutorials but I noticed the very first carto I filled had two stoppers. The first at the end which I replace by a drip tip and a second that sits just above the filler. None of the replacement cartos I've used came with the second stopper. Is the second one above the filler necessary to install after filling?

It was probably some kind of fluke. I've never seen a carto with 2 stoppers. What brand of carto was it?

There were two white plug like things. I think you are referring to the first. That is in the very end and I replace that with a drip tip. There was a second further in and it sat on top of the filler. I've been dutifully replacing the second one but decided to take it out. Much less gurgling now. I'm guessing it is not necessary.

This forum moves quick. Two other replies after the one i replied to. The carto came with a TubeTank from Volcano. Their replacement cartos didn't have that stopper. Probbly a fluke.

You're correct that some cartos come with one further down. I saw it in an old video about putting carto tanks together and the guy replaced it after filling the carto, then put the drip tip on top of it. I think the concept was that it would keep juice from coming up into the drip tip. Form over function fail; buh-bye...

I know exactly what you're talking about. All 4 of the smoktech cartos that came with my DCT tanks came with them. I have found them incredibly useful in cartos that like to snap and crackle a lot. That "stopper" prevents juice from popping up into your mouth. It will also help stiffen the draw on some cartos that have an excessively loose draw. I don't use them all the time, but I have saved every one of them, and I use them when needed.

They make good replacement wheels for matchbox cars too.

Yup. Old SmokeStik and some Truman cartos (4081) used to come with two sets of flat disks (and a thin silicone ring) to prevent hot juice sprays into vapers' mouths. I haven't seen them in a while. They were a nuisance and nobody makes them anymore, AFAIK.
They're still common in super minis. I have them in every 108 and l88b carto I buy.
