As many already know I have had huge obstacles overcoming painful throat hits. After reading many posts as well as a few questions of my own, the problem has been found to be operator error (I really want to say my-own stupidity here).

While there are those who disagree with what I believe to be the cause, I am currently vaping 12mg nic juice and the most I get for a TH is a warm feeling in the back of my mouth. Coming from a painful TH deep in my throat with 0nic juice this is (in my book), locating the problem.

While this could be a problem specific to me, I wanted to share it in the event you run across another having similar issues. You can read what I tried here.

I have been smoking non-filtered cigarettes for over 30 years, I have many soars in my throat from the coughing and the tobacco I have inhaled over the years. The TH I was experiencing was deep in my throat and it was extremely painful.

What I found to be the cause “for me” was the alcohol in the juice. I make no sense of it but removing the cap and allowing to steep for 3 days (capping only to shake 4 to 5 times a day) completely removed the TH. There is currently no juice in my cabinet under 16mg I cannot vape. This includes juices containing, menthol, citrus, and mint flavorings.

Currently I am steeping the 24mg and 18mg juices and , if anyone is interested, I can post back how that does as well.

Anyway, I just wanted to make this note, if I did not have the stubbornness of my mother I would have given up long ago, maybe my experience can help someone else.

So far today... 2 analogs. This is just unreal to me. I am ecstatic and so thankful for this forum and all those who have helped me. :vapor:

Makes perfect sense to me. I jumped right into DIY e-liquid because I figured out that i was sensitive to PG, very early, and there weren't many mostly-VG choices back then.

Some time later, I got a few alcohol-based flavorings, and found that I could only tolerate about 3 drops per 10ml before I started getting constant sore throat. I use very concentrated PG-based flavoring, now, so I can keep the PG to a minimum, and no ethyl alcohol at all.

Congrats on figuring it out. I know it can be difficult.
