A lot of first experience posts today, so I’ll add mine.

I’ve been a POD smoker of Parliament Light 100’s since the early 80’s. Got turned on to those while living with a gal in Queens. Great memories of those days, especially rocking and rolling in bed all night. No, not that, it was the elevated train 50 yards away from her flat. But I digress.

My 510 starter kit arrived yesterday. After 3 puffs I could tell this was going to do it. Have not had an analogue since. I was impressed by how close the vaping was to an analogue, but without the stink or mess. The TH was similar, the taste was even better. I put a couple packs of cigs in the fridge just in case, cleaned up all the ashes around my desk, cleaned out the ashtrays, and put my Zippos away (saving for a possible box mod).

So the 510’s work great. I like the small size. Only problem is making sure I have one charged. If you get these do get the PCC. The kit I got also came with cartomizers instead of atomizers/cartridges. Each holds close to 20 drops, enough for a day of vaping.

I got one auto and one manual battery. I like both actually. The auto works quite well but the manual gives you more control.

After burning through the first carto I refilled it with Menthol and gave it to my wife to try – also a long time POD smoker. But she wouldn’t even look at something that wasn’t menthol. So far she likes it – I may have my first convert. Problem is, she is using one of my batteries. I am as concerned about her health as mine, so if she switches, I’ll be a very happy guy.

Cheers for now. More observations to come.

Thanks for sharing your story! I hope vaping will turn out to be very beneficial for you and your wife. I'm also using a 510 system. As far as worrying about a battery, you might want to look into a USB pass-through, if you sit at your computer often. The pass-through provides constant power via your computer's USB port, so you can charge a battery for later use, while you vape with the pass-through. If I remember correctly, mine was about $9, and it's really a great item to have if you vape at your PC desk. Cheers.

Grats!!! Nice thing about the manuals besides being easier to get a good hit is the 510 manuals are fully sealed on the threaded end so you can't damage or kill them with juice leaks. Also manuals won't turn on accidentally from wind or vibration.

Boge 3 ohm cartos are most popular on slim 510.
Add a standard resistance 510 atomizer and drip tip to the manual only for testing juices (dripping not recommended on autos but you could use atomizer+cartridges)

Standard 510 is 180mah (100 mah is about 1 hour moderate vaping with standard resistance atomizer or cartomizer or about 2.5 to 3 ohms single coils, which is all slim batteries should be using)

upgrade paths for more charge include:

Joye 510 mega xl - 280mah, needs the metal Joye 510 Mega PC (Vaporkings.com sells one with an adapter so you can also charge the short batteries in it). About 128mm long with a Boge cartomizer

Fat battery 510-threaded models like Ego and the slightly warmer 3.7v Riva 510 from Liberty-Flights.com (the Riva 510 kits there are 3.7v) and Kgo (650mah to as high as over 1000mah depending on size)

510-threaded mods from plastic box mods to fancy metal mods, 3.7 and higher or variable (usually 600mah to over 2000mah depending on size)

Congrats! Looks like your first impression of the ecig was similar to mine, it truly is surprising how close it is in feel and taste to an analog! After my first round with my ecig I had to remind myself that my hands and clothes didn't stink after smoking, and it was a very intriguing experience!

I also have a few spare analog packs left over from a carton that I am going to keep around just in case, and if I have them around I won't get panicked and think I have no other option. I read in the ECF library that this is actually a good idea.
