Hey everyone!

Well, I decided to jump in and order a PV. I read a little before I purchased, then my boss and I got excited about it and ordered on a whim, without alot of reading.

Now that I've been doing quite a bit more reading on here, I'm doubting my purchase obviously. So I wanted to come post and see what the vets think of what actually got and the supplier.

I bought the 901 kit from vaporguys I'm a light smoker i guess, 10ish smokes a day. Trying to quit. I like a good throat hit. I smoke old golds and suck them down in like 3 mins lol.

So did I make a mistake or is this an ok beginner kit? And given my smoking habits can I just buy carts or will i need to get that bottle of juice and top off? Also, what do you guys think of the supplier I went with?

Still reading and soaking up as much as possible, any input is appretiated.

Thanks!

I am not sure about your model or supplier, but the thing that caught my eye was the question of if you will need to buy the liquid, or if you could stick with buying carts.

I am new to this myself. I am still using my first kit right now.

I find that a lot of people who either just ordered or havent ordered yet, think that it is better to stick with the carts for some reason. I personally started out with the 5 carts that came with my kit, but have only opened 3 of them, because I also ordered juice with my kit.

Not only does the juice save you $, but you can figure out what you like by filling the carts yourself. I personally have found that I like most of the flavors I have tried (not really fond of the tobacco flavors) and if I use a higher nicotine level, and add some VG (Vegetable Glycerine) from the health food store, it evens out the nic level, and adds more cloud to my puff. It also reduces the throat and lung kick a little. Also, some people on here mention that the carts sometimes show up, and need to be filled after a couple puffs. That has not happened to me, but I have only used 3 so far.

If you dont feel like messing around with this, the carts might work out for you, but you will be spending more money then you need to.

A mini e-cigarette is not a bad first choice. Just keep in mind there is a fair bit more upkeep to them versus a pen style. You're likely going to have a smaller atomizer, shorter battery life, smaller cart (means more refilling of juice).

If I were to have done it over again, I would have got a kissbox instead of my mini fogger, but if I were to have done that, perhaps I wouldnt have ended up with a janty stick afterall. So I suppose things happen for a reason :)

I almost always ONLY recommend manual switch PV's (personal vaporizer), not auto switch PV's such as the 901. My first PV was the 901. Since you are such a light smoker, the 901 might work well for you. The auto switch PV's batteries are so small and they all have a battery cut-off mechanisum if you inhale more than a few seconds that for most users of PV's, the manual switch PV's are definitely preferred. But if you are only hitting it a couple times an hours, it could work well for you.

The taste of the carts are considered by most to be far inferior to liquid, much less variety and much more expensive. I would definitely recommend buying juice, blank carts and re-filling your own.

Here are two good options for liquid:

If you decide that the 901 doesn't "hit" hard enough for you, then I would suggest you consider a manual switch PV for your 2nd choice. Here are the ones that are well supported and reviewed:

The 901 is a GREAT unit. I have a Janty Stick, 510, 801 and a 401, but my 901 is what I always use. Great flavor, great vapor and perfect size. Just order some extra atomizers and batteries and you'll be fine. And buy your own juice. It's much cheaper than pre-filled carts and taste much better. By the way, Vapor Guys is a great place to do business. Enjoy!

Thanks guys!

Mkes me feel better knowing this will be a decent kit. Guess i gotta order some juice I didnt get extra. Mabey i will move on to a screw driver or janty later on. My biggest issue was money. I can't afford to upgrade soon, so was hoping this will last untill i can upgrade to something a little more advanced.

Whats the deal with the autoswitch? I smoke once every one to two hours depending on what im doing. So is this thing not gonna let me take 5 or 6 puffs an hour? lol

Will look around for juice too, thanks for the links. Read something in another thread about Johnson creek turning green or something? Anyone use this exclusively?

I'm sure you'll be just fine with what you have, just take some time to research your next purchase (if there is one) and find out exactly what you want (large cart capacity, long battery life, etc, etc) Folks around here don't seem to mind answering questions. I think we all realize these are pricey choices, and want to give the best advice we can. :)

As far as juice goes, I received a pretty thin batch from JC, and they even offered to pay to have it shipped back and refund my money (they were super prompt in response to my complaint via email), however after further reading, I decided to get some VG to cut into my juice and now it vapes great (it was flooding my atty bigtime). Sadly, I don't know what the original flavors tasted like, but the black cherry, even cut, has a LOT of flavor. I like it a lot.

I am actually on a quest to find a good juice supplier, and have thought that my best options are going to be from china, if I want a good price.

Since you are looking for throat hit, the 901 might not give you the kick you're looking for.
If you find you MUST have more throat hit you'll probably want to switch to a manual battery soon.

And since you suck down a cigarette, like I do, then you are probably not going to like cartridges.
So you'll probably want to look into dripping at some point as well.

Personally, I think you are a perfect candidate for my setup.
510 manual battery with a 306 exposed atomizer.

I'm sure the 901 will work okay for you and help you get off cigarettes.
But just keep in mind my suggestions in case you find yourself wishing for something more.

Just wanted to say I got my 901 about an hour ago and am waiting for the battery to charge. I tried taking a hit off one like a cigg and got a mouthful of juice, so that was fun, lol. Will wait for the battery. :)

Just had one quick question for someone that has one. It didnt come with a manual. The only info i can find says that when the light goes from red to green it is charged. Well, my light is blue. What does that mean? I'm using the stock usb charger that it came with.
