Hello, I have been interested in getting an e-cig for awhile now. I found this forum the other day. Helped a lot on the terminology.

I mainly want it to use while I am using the computer which is usually many hours a day. I found "usb pass throughs" this morning and I think it is exactly what I am looking for. Cheaper than buying 2 batteries and not much invested if I don't take to it.

Tentative plan, USB pass through (the only one I saw online was made by ego I think), and 2 tanks/clearomizers such as CE4s. And some juice. Anything else I need right away? I am sure I will end up getting some batteries but I am hoping that I will be able to cut back on the real thing and I can switch spending $5 a day to using the money for equipment.

Any problems with my plan so far?

Sounds like a great plan. I got my son the ego pass through so he can also use it when he's not by a comp with just the ego battery. You might want to consider getting a car charger also that is compatible for the higher voltage. I got this one for my son and its variable voltage. Here's a great link for one and you can get the wall adapter and car charger and carts with it all in one spot. This is the "thing" I found.

Variable-voltage-510-eGo-USB-passthrough

Anyone tried one of these or heard anything about them? Do they work ok? Do they last?

It is a little cheaper than the passthrough battery but the battery may be a better option. Still looking. I am glad I found them.

Thanks for the replies.

I'm still pretty new at this so I won't attempt to make too many suggestions but, yeah, you got the right idea with a pass through. I was about to lose my freaking mind with charging and recharging and switching batteries until I got a pass through for being at the computer. I mean, I was about ready to go running down the road screaming so loud, you folks up there (I'm in Texas) woulda been wondering, "What is that noise?" :)

My only suggestions involve power. You have to plug direct into a USB on the machine or a powered hub. My keyboard has a couple of USB outlets and I tried one of them and the computer yelled at me. I've decided to get an AC wall USB adapter and use that instead. And, actually, my iPad wall adapter works with it. Those are 10W and deliver 5V at 2A so it coasts with the pass through. USB is 0.5A at 5V if memory serves so 2.5W.

Also, I have no experience with eGo but read a lot of positive comments about them around here. Lots of ECF folk use them so you're in the right place to ask questions. For that matter, seems no matter what question you have about vaping, somebody around here is an expert on the subject. This forum is just packed with knowledgeable folk.

Get an Itaste MVP and a long micro usb cable.

This unit is brain dead to operate.

It has the battery enclosed non changeable so no decisions other than
what clearomizer and juice to use.

At $65.00 you won't break the bank and it'll keep you happy for a long time.

Be sure to get the newest one with Ego Threading.

Hey Lowlife: That sounds a little funny!?? Anyway, I asked a lot of questions here before I made my first purchase. There are some Folks here with a lot of knowledge! I went with an eGo Pass through but a battery so I could walk away from power source you may want to consider that? I have since purchased a number of eGo Batteries with the Variable Voltage working best for me I have eGo VV’s in 650, 900 & 1100mah. I like the smaller 650’s for out in about with a mini 350mah for stealth in stores and what not! Just My 13cents worth!

lol I got the name from a song, "Lowlife" by Kidrock, Theory of a Deadman also has a good song of the same name.

I just ordered this:

Basic Ego Kit

I can buy any other little bits locally relatively cheap. I have 3 vapor shops within a mile of me.

~ Hey, not so much your name as just saying ‘Hey Lowlife!’ I like that song from Kid Rock and the Video from Theory of a Deadman is Pretty Funny! The Lyrics of both fit! Using a Beer Bottle as Slide done that a few times! F’n Deal with it! Ha Ha

That kit is a Great Way to Start! I have a number of Pass Throughs now. But I like the Variable Voltage the Best and really like being able to walk away from the power source as well as charging while Vaping!

The eGo style batteries work real well and are Super Affordable! I have eGo’s by different manufacturers and all are performing well! You are Lucky having local stores I’m waiting for them around here!

Thanks

I figure "buy something and quit obsessing." Lol I am sure there will be a lot more equipment to come. I am naturally a tech geek. I am already planning next purchases. Kanger T3, then some cartomizers and drip tips. Doing this on a tight budget. Wasn't originally planning to "quit" analogs but if it even helps cut it in half I will be happy and I will have money to spend on more vap things. I am OCD I have been "researching" these things for 2 years off and on. The technology is changing so fast, that is a wonderful thing.

I'm sure it will work fine except you will have to be plugged in always to use it, whereas the other one I posted will hold a charged battery also for when you want to use it on the go.
