Hello all, just started vaping 3 hours ago and hope to learn alot from you folks. Picked up a starter Kit and some liquid and hopefully it will work well for me!
My purchase included:
Ego starter Kit with 2) 650mah batteries
2)evod tanks(I think thats what they are called)
wall charger/USB charger.

I also picked up a larger battery (1100mah vision spinner), 2 extra burners for evod, a 10ml bottle of aqua vapor regular(24Mg) and Kentucky blend mountain dew flavor(24Mg).

What do you think of the setup and what can I upgrade to better my experience. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum. As RoseB said that is a pretty good start. Vaping is different than smoking so it may take a little time to get used to it and thankfully there is a lot of information on this forum and lots of helpful people to answer any questions and offer support. I think that you should give yourself a little time to get used to the change and see if what you have is good enough to keep you off cigs and to see if you find it satisfying. There are so many posts here about all the wonderful things you can try and I am sure it is a bit overwhelming. When I started there wasn't as much available and I only used egos and cartos for the first 4 months. Then I got a vamo and have slowly moved up to tanks and clearos. We all move at different paces so the main thing is to find what works for you. Of course, there are also many people here who really get into vaping and have all kinds of gear. Nothing is set in stone and I am sure you will find your own way on this new journey. The most important thing is that you have started this journey.

Its in my hand as we speak, its "ok" I dont crave a cigarette but I get kind of a burnt taste, the guy at the store set it all up for me, and I got a good draw off it for the first hour or so
That is awesome :) I wouldn't worry about upgrading right away. You've got some good stuff. When you start to struggle or have goals to drop nicotine, then maybe think about it. That's my opinion though, and it's your choice :vapor: BTW: some times I give my device a bit of a shake to get those Evods to wick a bit better. It's weird, but meh..kind of substitutes for flicking ashes.

Hello and Welcome KyBoy! That's a nice starter set-up. I wish I'd started out that good :) You mentioned it tasted burnt? Are you chain vaping? I know I did when I first started out. I never used the Evods, don't know if those are wicked, bottom coiled, or top coiled? It'll make a difference in how it vapes and how warm it feels.

They vary, some last day some last month or even more. Many factors go into it how well they built it what juice you're using dark? clear? etc... ways of burnt "burners".

When putting a new "burner" in take few hits without powering the device and let the juice sit on the new "burner" wicks for awhile before actually vaping the new "burner".

Ways to keep your "burner" working longer.

Dark e-liquid gunks up coils faster. (Sorry "burner")
E-liquid that's added extra sweet to the base.
Needs to be worked in.
Might need to juice the wicks as in move juice around on the wicks.
Might be gunked up by using it a lot (ways to clean it ).
Wasn't primed good etc....

Edit: Reason I used "burner" is because we use the word coil but to not confuse you I used the word you use.

Seems like a good start! Very similar to my start actually. I bought a Kanger EVOD starter kit for the new year and with the addition of a couple of VV batteries, a bunch of juice and spare tanks I am really satisfied with everything I have purchased.
Some stuff was a waste (most all smoke shop/.... hut juice I have bought is terrible as well as some knockoff CE4 cartomizers) but I really like the EVODs and LOVE LOVE LOVE the pair of mini Protank2s that I have picked up.

I have about $100 worth of gear now and probably spent another $100 on juice but I have like 300ml of various flavors (90% of which I like!). All this vaping gear seems cheap to me compared to the four $60 cartons of cigs that I no longer buy for my wife and my myself a month. That isn't even taking into account how much better I feel since quitting smoking 6 weeks ago!

Lol well sorry fajuvo I bought 2 extra "coils" as well so hopefully they will last me a little while, to be honest the guy at my local vape store confused me by calling them atomisers and cardomisers so burner was an easier understanding for me. one.of my e-liquids is the color and consistency of motor oil, so I should let in sit on the wick for a while? The other liquid is clear and thin.

You have perfectly good stuff. The hardest thing is finding a juice you like. The burnt taste may be from a juice you don't like.

It could also be caused by not wicking right. Try some primer draws (draw but don't push the button). Helps to draw juice into the wicks. Or let it rest longer between draws to allow more juice to wick.

Not as important with bottom coils like the evod, but higher PG juices are thinner and wick faster.

You could also try higher resistant coils. Not sure what you're using, but if you have 1.8ohm, try 2.2ohm or 2.5ohm. Different juices react differently to heat.

Just some suggestions.

Explore the forum and google or youtube how to clean and dryburn a Kanger coil. It will help them last much longer. In the six weeks i have been using the EVODs I have yet to have to replace a coil. I rinse them out every couple of tankfuls, (takes just a couple of minutes) and disassemble and dry burn them once a week or so (when their performance seems to drop off).

I seem to prefer ejuices that are light colored and not particularly sweet though (spearmint, menthol, licorice, popcorn). That may be why I don't seem to burn up coils like crazy. I seem to vape 3 or 4 evod or Mini Protank2 tankfuls a day so I am definitely using them a lot.

Lol it's not a problem I think they call them atomizer heads, coil heads, coils, w.e but basic term is coil or coil head. I wasn't trying to insult you in anyway I promise Just used the burner word so I wouldn't confuse you at all. W.E juice you got is great to let it sit for little time I only let mine sit for 5 min because I love to vape!(Only when putting a new coil in.) Your darker juice will make the burnt taste a lot faster than your clear juice will but some people love the dark juice so I'm not judging! Just trying to tell you a few things so u know ahead of time! I hope you're enjoying all your equipment it's a lovely setup! Also too sweet will gunk your coil up faster also.. as anumber1 said theirs ways to clean them so don't throw them out fast! Happy vaping!
