Hey everyone, hailing from North Dakota here. I'm very new to vaping but very excited. So far I have only tried disposable ecigs and a few test hits off a mall kiosk brand ecig but immediately ordered a pv when I realized how much better it could get. I should be getting my Volt starter kit in the mail today and I'm quite impatient, but I'm also a bit concerned. My immediate reaction was wanting something inconspicuous which is why I chose the Volt, but after talking with more people I'm beginning to think I'd be better off with something a little more heavy-duty. I'll probably keep the Volt..as I like the idea of having something small, easy and "look-alike" for when I'm out and about or driving, but I'm not quite sure where to go from here. The world of PV's has been rather overwhelming for me. I like the look and idea of tanks or clearomizers, and not having to fiddle with dripping all the time but with all the different sizes of batteries and fittings, I haven't been able to make any decisions. My concerns are with leaking and cartomizer/atomizer repacement (I'd prefer something that lasts longer) I understand the concepts of variable voltage pv's, but I'm not sure I want to go down that route. Any input you guys can offer will be greatly appreciated.

**Oops! I probably should mention, I've been a smoker for about 12 years and currently am at just under a PAD of Camel lights.

Hello and Welcome! The e-cig world is extremely overwhelming, but you've found the right place for sorting it all out. Keeping the volt as a back-up to whichever PV you decide on is a great idea. Search around here, and youtube for various reviews, and you'll figure out what best suits your needs.

Since you are going to break out the volt the minute it arrives... Try it out for a couple days and see how you like it. It's so hard not to order everything.. But take some time and figure what you do and don't like about the volt before you order another pv. I went a little crazy and have more then I need and still looking to upgrade. On the plus size I have lots of backups (can never have enough) and I started loaning my pink kgo's (what was i thinking) to friends/family to try. Goodluck and happy vaping!

Welcome to ECF.

If you're looking for something a bit more heavy-duty, look into the Kgo, Riva or ePower. They are all 3.7V PV's that accept 510 threaded accessories (the most popular threading). You will have a lot of different accessories available you can use on them. The most popular beginner setup is one of these with a low resistance cartomizer.

Welcome! as natures already said, with all the products available its extremely overwhelming. I have been a member of these forums for 2 years and am just starting to post (after reading a ton of information and going through 7-8 different pv's and mods) and you are definitely in the right place to learn everything your going to need to know about vaping. Best advice I can give is buy two PV's. ALWAYS have a backup. there have been times where my go to PV will go down and I will have to wait for parts, and those are the times where I will fall off the wagon and go buy some smokes. spend the extra money and throw a 2nd pv and some spare carts/atomizers in a drawer for emergency so this doesn't happen to you :)

Hi Nassa - Welcome to ECF, I used to live in Moorhead and worked in Fargo for many years, now I'm in the Cities.... Stick with it and experiment to find the right hardware. It is a journey I have been enjoying and now slowing it down a bit as I have invested plenty of $$$.

This is a great place and just a wealth of information. Take what you need from here and leave the rest for another day.

Thanks guys :)

RockinRay- I'm the opposite, I ordered 2 manuals with an extra automatic, lol. When I tried out disposables i noticed I didn't need to take as long of a draw on the manual if I held the button for a second and let the atomizer 'heat up'. Not sure yet how that will translate to the volt but I look forward to finding out.

Now my biggest problem is having this time off...All i want to do is sit at the computer and buy up every e-juice flavor I come across! D: The poor dog is giving me a "are you EVER going to take me for a walk again???" look.
