Hey all.I just bought my first real e-cig (bought the disposable one first) then after searching this forum i decided to go with the 510 kit.I first tried the smoking everywhere one at a little stand at the mall but the kit the lady was trying to sell me was $280.A store by my house had the kit for 70(with a bottle of camel flavored juice) so i went with that because after some reading i guess thats the one with the best "throat hit" anyways im very pleased with it,My only questions are ive been smoking for about 19 years (camels about 1-2 packs a day) for the past 3 days ive had this ive been trying to ween my self off the real cigarettes with the 510Just wondering is that how most people start? Also how long did it take most to go from the real thing to the e-cig?Ive cut way back to about 5 cigs a day and now im down to about 3 so id say im doing good?

I think you are doing great! As far as quitting goes, it varies. From what I've read here there are people who can instantly make the switch to vaping, some that make the switch by cutting down slowly, and everything in between.

I personally believe that 5 cigs a day compared to 35 or 40 is a huge deal!

I'm brand new to vaping and on day three with my 510. I got my kit on Saturday afternoon, charged it up and began the learning curve. That night I smoked 2 cigs. Yesterday, I smoked none!! Today - not one (yet). I am not going to beat myself up if I end up smoking a few. This is working though! Normally, I'm a pack and a half (or more) a day menthol smoker. To not smoke any in almost 2 days, is huge, especially since there is a full pack in the drawer right next to me. I really have no desire, I'm not obsessively thinking about it, and even when someone has lit one up right in front of me - it didn't bother me or make me want one.

Pat yourself on the back and keep going! If your goal is to quit completely, I believe you'll be able to do it.

Congrats!!

I have been smoking a pack a day for more than 35 years.

I have also quit smoking during that time period several times so I know what to expect when quitting tobacco.

I have an addictive personality and always went back to smoking.

When I started vaping I just didn't smoke anymore (eCigs are a perfect alternative for me).

But, this forum is not about how fast you stop smoking tobacco, it is a support forum for people wanting a safe alternative to smoking.

Nobody here will judge you.

Make the transition at your own pace.

We are all rooting for you and will be here for you.

Hi X
I can only speak for myself but I got a 510 kit when I first started as you and have not ever picked up a cig since. I think it has to do with a persons determination on how much they want to quit cigs.

You are on the right track so just stay with it. There is a learning curve to all this. Once you get it down you will be a happy camper..
