What's good folks? I'm a soon to be convert from analogs to vaping. I was just introduced to vaping via a friend of mine and his newly bought blu ecigs last Thursday. Funny thing is, my friend is not even a smoker (fad degenerate...lol). Since I'm a believer that nothing happens by accident, I decided to do some research and came across this forum. I can definitely say I found more than I bargained for!! Decided to read through all the threads and gather as much knowledge as I could to make a decision to vape or not to vape. After sleepless nights and dry, irritated eyes from all the information I've been reading on the forum, I've finally decided to pull the trigger and quit the analogs and start a new, carcinogen free life. Only thing is, I can't decide on where to start!! After reading thread after thread, I have come to the conclusion that I will end up buying two set-ups: one of the cig-a-likes and something along the lines of a eGo. I was thinking I'd need to start there because I wanted something more eye friendly in public and while driving (cig-a-likes) and something more serious for home use (ego). But when it comes to manufacturers, it's a jungle out here (well that and everyone is sold out of everything). How is a newbie like me who is anxious to get started and dump the analogs to start? Just to give a little background on myself using the questionnaire posted by zapped to hopefully get some guidance from you wonderful folks (thanks for the questionnaire zapped):

-
1.I currently smoke between 6-8 analogs a day (up to a 1/2 a PAD if out with the fellas).

2. I currently smoke Benson & Hedges Menthol (green pack, 100's)

3. Since I need a Mod for the house and one while in public, I can see myself purchasing 2 within the next few days.

3. I want something that has a decent battery and durable for home and small and compact for the days out and about.

4. I prefer something cylindrical.

5. Battery wise, I want something that I don't really have to worry about during the day or while out on my runs on the weekends and something I can use all night when home (got a feel I might become a chain vaper)

6. I plan to put as much time I need to into vaping depending what setup is suggested.

7. I think I would prefer menthol, fruit and candy or dessert flavors.

8.I really don't know if I would like a warmer or a cooler vape? I'll have to discover that along this journey

9. I'm looking for vapor production and flavor more than anything

10. Price, quality, reliability and ease of use is the order of what's important

11. Not trying to break the bank on my first 2 purchases, but I'm thinking I'm going to be in the $150-$175 to start.

12. I have looked at the other accessories and have a pretty good bead on everything. I know that pre-filled carts are not so good.

13. Would you feel more comfortable vaping wherever!!

14. Black, Red, Pewter are my favorite colors?

15. I know I will need backups to my backups (redundancy rocks!!)

16. I would prefer a battery that the voltage to stay the same throughout the life of the battery.

I appreciate any help or guidance y'all can provide. Thanks for reading!!

I would start with some ego passthroughs (bottom unscrews to you can plug it into your PC usb, as well as your car USB is you have it)

While I'm home It's always plugged in (with a long usb cable) but I'll go a whole night and the next morning at least without having to recharge it. (I believe mine is the 650mah, the 1000s were a tad to big for my liking)

So far I'm digging the Vivi Nova mini clearos, and Kanger tanks.

Still experimenting myself, but hope this helps a little.

Well I actually stop procrastinating and decided to jump into the world of vaping. I ordered 2 eGos (a 650mah & a pass through), a mini vivi nova, a Kanger T3, and some different Halo e-juices. Tracking my order like a stalker, I received my eGos, my mini vivi nova and my juices today. I felt like a kid waiting for Christmas all day! got home from work, opened up the packages, charged the batts, added juice to the nova and officially vaped for the first time. All I can say is....HOLY VAPING BATMAN!!!! this was waaaay better than than my homie's Blu! I can officially say I'm never going back to analogs!! With that said, I have some Malibu Menthol that's calling me! I'll definitely update y'all on my experience as time goes by. Hidden Dragon is a Happy Dragon today!

Uhm, DMV as in Department of Motor Vehicles? Oh gosh, we're normally very welcoming, but we HATE your type, LOL! Just kidding, I'm new myself. Welcome to our world! Glad you're liking your (first) ecig & juice. Don't worry if you have any problems or questions along the way. Equipment will fail, willpower will waiver, tastes will change. Someone here will always be able to help.

Blu's are aweful! I wonder how many people try them and quickly switch back to smoking. Sounds like you have a good start.

Hey there Hidden Dragon and welcome to ECF! :D

Congrats on getting off the cigs, and getting a good setup and juices you like. I think that is part of keeping people off the cigs: finding a good setup and juice they like.

Great community here, and great to have you as part of it :toast:

Thanks for the welcome SPM3! The community has been awesome so far. I look forwarard to more input. Actually I do have a question. I know I've seen the answer before but I can't locate the thread. What the general rule on trying new juices and the "seeping" process? I know I read somewhere that juices tastes better after a week or two. But, I can't remember all that was said about it. Any info would be great.

**Update**

Hey ECF!! Since I've last posted, I've gone from a couple of standard ego batts, a T3, and a mini nova to adding 2 ego twists, a dripping atty, another T3, 2 Protanks, and a few other BCC clearos. I've even converted my mother, an aunt and her friend from analogs to the world of vaping. I've been enjoying my journey and now I'm looking into my first mod(s). I now find myself again in a TON of research and have narrowed my choices down to 3. Out of the 3, I'm leaning more towards the Vamo and the Sigelei Z-max telescopic versus the Provari (mainly because of my love for the T3 and not wanting to have to get an adapter). But after reading other threads and user reviews, I feel like I can't go wrong with any of them. I'm just trying to prevent "buyer's remorse" . Any advice you all can provide would be greatly appreciated.
