Heya folks.
I've wanted to get an ecig for a while now. I didn't do much research, which is odd for me. But, I finally bought an RN4072 Penstyle from mypvshop on the recommendation of a couple friends. This was about 4 months ago.
I understand that PVs are not for the purposes of quitting cigarettes, but a couple of my friends have used them to do so, and I wanted to see whether they'd help me at least cut down. I used to smoke between 15 - 20 cigarettes a day. After I received my 4072, I haven't smoked a single analog cigarette. Not even one drag.
You can definitely say that I like vaping a lot.
I am usually the type of person that does a lot of tinkering and modding in all of my hobbies. I admit that the reason I have resisted to join this forum, or even lurk much, is that I know once I start getting more into vaping, I'll spend a lot more time and money on it.
But, alas, here I am.

Some recent thoughts:
At first, I figured that an auto battery would be much better, so I didn't even consider a button-activated PV. I haven't had any trouble with the Penstyle at all, but I can now see myself using a button-activated model.
It wasn't long before I noticed a reduction in the amount of vapor I was getting. I figured out that if I blew the atty out from the threaded side into a paper towel, it helped with vapor production for a bit.
More recently, it has seemed that I cannot get much vapor at all out of either of my attys. So, I tried cleaning them as mypvshop suggests. I soaked the attys in Coke overnight and rinsed them with near-boiling water in the morning. Now, they both draw smoother, and produce vapor as they did when I first received them! I'll definitely take the time to clean them more often.
The only liquids I have tried have been those from mypvshop, but they seem fine to me. I have tried Liberty's Clove, MyKamel, Custom, Mint, DK-TAB, and Cream. I also tried MyPV's Doublemint. So far, the only liquid I dislike is the Liberty DK-TAB. I can't say which appears to create more vapor as I tend to mix them in my carts quite a bit.
One of my friends told me to buy a pack of cotton exfoliating pads to re-stuff my carts. This has been the only real mod I've tried. My experience says that this material doesn't absorb liquid as well as the stock stuffing material. I thought, at first, that I saw improved vapor production, but I think this may have been a placebo effect. In addition, this stuffing material definitely adds an unpleasant taste to the vapor. I have since resumed using the stock material. I assume that the optimum material would be one that wicks liquid as freely as possible while being able to retain the bulk of the liquid in the cart. The first material that springs to my mind is that which is found inside a Zippo lighter. Has anyone tried this?
My next step is finding a PV which will provide considerably more vapor and a more robust throat-hit. I'd also like to find something with better battery life. I've done a very small bit of research tonight, and I found the PureSmoker Prodigy v3. This thing looks like a beast I could really enjoy!
Next steps: learning about differences in batteries and voltages, carts vs. dropping, different liquids, and, of course, modding!
That's all for now. No real questions yet. I'll lurk some before I ask everything that's been asked a thousand times.
Thanks!
