Hi! I just took my very first vape today, so I am still learning. I received my KGO today in the mail and was so excited to try it out. Even though I researched for hours upon hours about this, I still found myself confused when trying to figure the parts out. Upon suggestion by one of the members I ordered one of the clearomizers as well. From the same site, hoosierecig.com I got a few different flavors of juice as well of a few of the most recommended tobacco flavored juices but they have not arrived yet.

I am a pack a day ultralight smoker, so I ordered the 12mg juices. My goal is to quit smoking everything all together. I have quit a few times in the past but for some reason around the 3 month mark of not smoking I went back to it. At least I can make the step to vaping (or try to) since it is so much better for you.

This is only my first day, well only my first hour even, so it's still really awkward for me. I hope can make the transition. I'm afraid I'm going to vape too much and get sick or something. When smoking analogs, when it was gone I stopped... but how do you know with vaping?

My very first juice is a caramel cappuccino. YUM! But I do think it may help when my Boba's Bounty gets here, maybe to help me feel like I'm smoking.

Wish me luck!

Well first of all, welcome to ECF MariB! The KGO is a great kit to start off with and I'm sure you will be pleased with it. I personally vape WAY more than I smoked, well more consistently anyway, and initially "over vaped" on a couple of occasions. I began to get a headache, slight dizziness and a racing heart beat and knew I had to dial it down a bit! Your body will let you know, however. Also remember to hydrate yourself properly and just slow it down a bit when you notice any symptoms and you will be fine! Good luck and congrats so far!

12mg nicotine strength eliquid is pretty low for someone trying to transition to vaping. It may work for you but I would have suggested you get some in both 24mg and 12mg. If the 24 was too much and the 12 too little, you can always mix them to get around 18mg. Most new people need 18mg - 24mg to make the transition and it doesn't matter what kind of analog they smoked. There is no direct correlation between the two. If you find you are still wanting to smoke, get some 24mg nicotine strength eliquid. And inhale into the mouth and then into the lungs. Don't direct inhale. Vapor is much drier than smoke.

Welcome Mari... You sound just like me!! The three month mark was always as far as I ever got with quitting too. Until I found my KGO!! I've been 5 months now and have no desire to go back. I will second everything previous posters have said. 12mg may not be enough to quit, it wasn't for me. There were times I needed something a bit stronger to get over the hump so yes, order some 24mg for those times. You don't absorb the nicotine the same way as smoking so don't worry about overloading yourself too much. And hydration is very important, these things will dry you out like crazy!! Water, water and more water!! Surf around here and ask questions. This is by far the best way to quit those awful stink sticks. And if I can do it, so can you!! There's tons of info here & great people that will answer any question you have. Good luck!!

Welcome MariB! I never wanted to quit smoking but did so really accidentally. With vaping, thought maybe I would cut down some. Just really got tired of lighters, smoke, ashes, dirty ash trays, etc. Once I had to give up my Salem Slim 100's due to cost, it just wasn't the same anymore. I'm enjoying the heck out of vaping and loving trying different flavors. Great forum here you can find most any information you would need or someone usually has the answer. Good luck to you!

Hey, congratulations! As far as knowing when to stop with vaping, from reading a lot of forums and things it seems that it varies greatly. I mean some people vape all day every day because they enjoy it, whether they're using 0 mg juice or maybe 6 or 8 or 12, like you. Personally, I vape when I'm feeling a craving and stop when the craving passes. At least sometimes..I have this yummy coffee flavor that I sometimes just drip drip drip and smoke 'till I'm satisfied! I think that unless you're using a ridiculously high mg nicquid, you probably won't have to worry about getting sick from even heavy vaping..especially at only 12mg. I've been alternating for the past five days between 24mg and 12mg vaping both pretty frequently throughout the day and I've yet to experience a nicotine headache or feeling sick or anything. The amount of nicotine you actually take in from the vapor is actually quite miniscule. Vape away, friend!

Thanks! I got in my Highbrow RY4 today and even though it doesn't taste all scrumptious like my caramel cappuccino, I think I'll be sticking with it until I can get off analogs. I ordered a higher % of Boba's Bounty, we'll see how that goes when it gets here.

A question about throat hit. I don't get any unless I actually do inhale like an analog. But I read that you aren't supposed inhale that way, you are supposed to puff it into your mouth THEN inhale. Is there a reason for this?

One more quick question. Which one of these do I want? I don't understand the Ohm stuff.

http://www.hoosierecig.com/EGO-Vision-clearomizers-25-29ohm_p_91.html

I have the 1100mAh KGO and am using one of the clearomizers but can't remember which one I ordered. I didn't even see that they had 2 different kinds.

Edit: Ok apparently the one I'm using now is the 2.5-2.9

Throat hit comes from basically two things: nicotine strength and warmth of the vapor (higher voltage batteries). How you inhale will have little effect on throat hit. Inhaling into the mouth and then the lungs is how almost all of us vape. The reason you have little to no throat hit is your 12mg nicotine strength eliquid. Try some 18mg - 24mg and you will feel the throat hit. Move up to a good 5 volt or variable watt model PV and you will enhance the throat hit.

Also, from my experience and what others have stated on ECF, CE2's (clearomizers) like you are using are not as good for throat hit. Getting a lower ohm atty or carto will make for a little warmer vapor. (1.7 ohm - 2.5 ohm)

welcome to the forum. And good luck to quitting analogs.
I had my last analog 3 mos ago when I started vaping.
I am using 12 mg nicotine, that is what I started out with and am still using.
I smoked lights when I smoked.
I was just reading some posts here today though, that we don't absorb as much nicotine through vaping as we
do in smoking.
You should read the info here.
Beginner Tutorial - 1
Good info for people just starting out on ecigs.

Boba's Bounty is good, but nothing tastes like the real thing. this may sound silly but what did it for me was a really strong menthol, and i was NOT a menthol cigarette smoker. Its all about trial and error:)
enjoy the process.
best of luck.
