I have been lurking on the forum since last Saturday. I was smoking 1.5 packs a day for the last 7 years, not too long but long enough. I had an njoy cig-a -like a few years ago and needless to say it was awful. So after finding ECF, I decided to invest in a halo triton starter kit. So I went to the local smoke shop and ended up buying a cheap ego starter kit instead, not knowing if it would be worth it to me. I hadn't actually planned on quiting smoking, just to use it inside during winter, as I didn't smoke in the house. Since then, last Saturday, I haven't had an analog in a week! I have added to the collection- 2 egos, a couple spare tanks, about a dozen types of juice and my new favorite, the MVP 2. I confident that I am through with the analogs. Well enough rambling ;) I just wanted to say hello and thanks for all the useful knowledge you all share. I am looking forward to being an active member on this amazing forum, and someday soon getting my hands on a mechanical.

Hi ToBey and welcome to ECF. Congrats on being analog free for a week. That is a HUGE accomplishment and I hope you find some way to reward yourself (though vaping and better health should be reward enough, but I enjoy little tangible rewards). Sounds like you have some gear and juices that are working for you which is great to hear.

Thanks for sharing your story. I always enjoy hearing success stories. Hope you find ECF to be as friendly, supportive and knowledgeable as I have found it to be. The folks here are great and we don't just celebrate success', we also support each other through our challenges.

Keep the vape and namaste.

thanks for the warm welcome folks! As far as what i am looking for in a mech, nothing really haha. I just like to tinker with things and i think it would be up my alley. Although i am new at this, i have found that, or to me and it seems to be to alot of people, not only a smoking cessastion but a hobby as well. i am just intrigued by all the gear and customization's.

Congrats on kicking the analogs. And kudos on moving quickly to the mvp2. I haven't gone on to mods yet, but hear lots and lots of good things about that one, and it's not too pricey. It might be my first mod, but I might try a vv v3 first. Not sure yet.

And yeah, if you're not careful, the hobby aspect can be really habit forming it seems. I'm already an ex-smoker of 10 years. I just started getting into this because my wife was on Blu for too long. I used to think it might be too much bother to keep up with, but it's really easy. She isn't too particular, so she's fine with her ego-c2 pass-through with a Kanger T3S. I, on the other hand, can't stop looking into more. I used to puff on her Blu ecig every now and then, and tried out her ego when I picked it up for her. I ended up getting an ego twist for myself with a T3S, and now have my first protank2 on order. Looking forward to trying coils and DYI juices.

Welcome to ECF, hope to hear from you lots in the future! On the topic of mechs and, what I assume from an implication, RBA/RDAs that you have to tinker with and wrap yourself and all that advanced wibbly wobbly vapey wapey stuff, just remember that safety is key. I know it's probably not gonna be a thing for at least a little while, but you absolutely have to know some stuff before you start all of the do-it-yourself stuff. There are many videos up on youtube for these types of things, and I would suggest accumulating knowledge even before you make your purchase. I cannot stress it enough, you have to be safe with it. (Not to dissuade you, just trying to prevent bad things)

I hear you very well, I am of the same breed.

There's just a lot of people that wants them thinking that mechanical mods are more powerful than electronic mods. This is not true, they are in fact weaker, and more dangerous if not used properly.... That being said... they are great when used properly, just know what you are getting into. Read about battery safety, ohms law, maximum discharge rates if you want to get one.

If you are a tinkerer, get your wallet out and welcome to the wonderful world of vaping.
