Hello, fellow vapes & vapettes!

Yep. I'm pretty new to the e-cig world.
I've lurked here for a few weeks. And learned.
Thought it would be a good idea to come out
of the shadows & introduce myself.

Lotsa good people here.
Perhaps a few new friends in time.

I'm 48, and been chokin on Marlboro Lights
since forever. I think I've had enough.

Just bought an ego-t.
I haven't used it yet. But I can't wait!
Started out with PureSmokes. I loved the
concept, and decided to step up.

Most importantly, I'd like to thank all the people
who made the effort to make a forum like
this possible. Hat's off to you.

Hi, Mike. I've been smoking forever too and have been trying to quit for practically that long as well. I am serious when I say I never made it longer than a day without a cigarette for over 35 years. And I tried everything - gum, lozenges, patches, inhalers, hypnosis, you name it. It was all a lot of money down the drain and an abysmal failure each time.

I have not touched an analog cig since I bought my first e-cig. I even still have some analogs in the house and have no desire to smoke one at all. I am sincerely amazed that it was so easy to quit them. It has been no effort at all. I'm finding that the whole vaping thing is NOT too good to be true. It is true.

I bought an eGo as well. I love it. I think I'm going to move on to tanks soon though. They seem much simpler than messing around with carts., though the carts are easier than I thought they'd be.

Congrats on your decision to quit smoking. As a medical professional, I can tell you it's the best thing you'll ever do for your health.

Good luck!

- Peggy

Some hints for your Ego-T:

1) Pick up some of the soft silicone tank caps. You can wash out and reuse the tanks, but the silicone tank caps are much easier to put on and take off for filling purposes, and they're also easier to wash out. They're cheap enough that if you manage to mangle one, you can pitch it in the trash and replace it without batting an eye.

2) When filling your tanks, fill it most of the way, but leave a little air space at the top. When you put on that tank cap, it displaces a little liquid, and you don't want to make a mess when filling them. Also, put a drop or two on your atty, and one on the end of the tank cap itself before putting it into the atty. This primes the atty to the flavor you're about to vape, and it keeps the tank cap dampened with juice, which prevents odd plasticky-tastes (I've only had the plastic taste happen once, but once was enough).

3) Pick up a couple 510-threaded cartomizers to experiment with in the future. Also, the Riva-T tankomizer is phenomenal on an ego-T battery, and holds more juice than the standard ego tanks do. You don't have to pick either up right away, but they're a good experimentation point to consider for the future, and besides that, both are pretty cheap (carts are a couple bucks, the Riva-T goes from $4.95-$9.95 depending on where you get it).

Regardless of where you go from here in your vaping journey, welcome to ECF, and also to a smoke-free existence. You'll probably find you really don't miss those things for long. ;)

Wow! That didn't take long.

Hello Elfstone & Peggy!
Thanks for chiming in.

Yeah, I'm ready for a change.
I've been ordering juice ingredients
and want to mix a batch.

So, I'm jumping in with both feet.

Same here. I've been on the DIY juice forum most of the day, reading all the ins and outs. Honestly, I think it's good to be obsessive a bit and to jump in with both feet. One of the problems I had with smoking cessation was figuring out what to do instead, you know? Vaping gives you something to do. While I've been reading and researching/comparing prices for ingredients and looking at flavors and supplies and whatnot all day, I haven't had time on my hands or had to make efforts to distract myself from smoking or wanting to smoke. I'm jumping in with both feet too, and I don't care what it costs me in $$. I've filled at least 10 carts with different flavors today and haven't thought about lighting up an analog one single time.

I never dreamed smoking cessation could actually be fun, but it is!

*grin* I just happened to be cruising threads, and as I'm still only, oh, not quite two months into vaping myself, I tend to spend a lot of time hanging out in the new member forums. ;) And I tend to go 'ooh, someone else using ego-T systems!' and share the tidbits I've learned through experience right off the bat.

If you've got questions, toss 'em on out, and someone'll likely speak up on them quickly -- if not me, someone else absolutely will. Good to have you here, though! You'll probably find that these folks around here are some of the most supportive people on the face of the planet in terms of making the switch. It's been a lifesaver for me. :)

"speaking up quickly" is an understatement!
So far, everyone has been great.
Glad to be here.
