After finding this site by accident 2 weeks ago, the idea has been rattling in my head. I'm a 1 pack a day Malb 100 box smoker (since 1980). As I have been dragging on my analogs and reading all I can about the subject,types of ecigs, battery problems, TH, nicotine content, and all the other different issues that other noobs face, I came to the conclusion the Joye 510 was the best way to go.
Barring any of the previous poster's issues, I jumped right in. Bought the dual pack with PCC from cignot (really good at $65). Not sure whether I would like the auto or manual, I got 1 of each (one blue, one orange). Worried I would not get the nic hit I get now, I went with the ECO Pure Rich 24mg, Joye tobacco 24mg, and an extra 15ml bottle of the ECO. Seeing as I won't be able to vape at work (work on a military installation and they have their own rules), I got the extra 3 battery pack (also mixed auto/man).
I then went to dietsmokes and bought 2 packs of carts and an additional atomizer (when I start using other flavors). They were cheaper and cignot didn't offer separate atomizers.
Taking the lead from some other posters, I went to JC and got their V2 Sample Pack. So I think I' setting myself up for success, and hopefully avoiding all the other pitfalls previous posters have endured. I think I will be happy with the 510 based on the reviews and videos I've watched.
~~~Damn! Another analog! Always happens when I think too hard and spend money!
I'll be following gooney0 on the quest, and can't wait to rid of these smelly things.
The countdown starts now! I just pressed order on all 3 sites not more than 10 minutes ago, and already got confirmation from cignot that my order is shipped. Hope the 2-3 days everyone else is experiencing works for me as well. If that's the case, I'll be vaping my way into the weekend!
I was asleep on the couch taking a nap after I got home from work. My oldest daughter came home and brought in the mail, and there was the package from Cignot! I thought about it for a second and decideed to open the package instead of going out to the garage for a smoke. Yup, everything is here! 2 e-cigs with atomizers, 5 batteries total (2 Man, 3 Auto), 5 prefilled Malb high carts, the PCC, a couple bottles (EVO and Tobacco). I unpackaged everything and put two together.
I decided to put 2 together, and plug in the chargers with 2 other batteries just in case. Went to the garage and gave them a try. The taste has a little to be desired, and the vape wasn't too much. I found out that the Auto batteries will light up if you blow on the front a little, and this concerned me if there was a little wind outside, they might drain faster. TH wasn't bad. I was amazed at how quickly my craving went away!
Went back inside and decided to try the teabag method on the 2 empty carts that came on the atomizers. Everything went well, and filled them with the EVO. Gave them a try again, and got a little more vape, but still a little off on the taste (yes, I know, I'm waiting for the break-in period). \
I tried vaping during all my normal smoke times (After dinner, driving to the store, driving back from the store, and right before bed. I had no problem removing any cravings within the first 2 vapes, and only vaped the same amount of time I smoked. Since I was a Marlboro 100's smoker, I went with the 24mg nic cartridges, and had no problems, no headaches, no updset stomache, no dizziness, so I think I got it right.
We'll see what happens tomorrow morning (I usually have one when I get up and have my first cup of coffee).
SO far so good!!!:pervy:
You're too funny! I'm doing the same thing.... Used to be, my favorite place to smoke was at the upstairs porch door, just leaning at the doorjam, puffing away and watching the weather. Oh so relaxing! So when I started vaping, I'd catch myself going for the door. And what's great about it all is I can enjoy my vaping and still watch the weather at the same time! haha And I feel so much better doing that!
Enjoy your newfound better habit! :D
You shopped good! ;-) ... except perhaps the JC juice which simply isn't what it used to be and according to reports very 'thin' so I wouldn't use it with any PTB that are prone to leakage anyway.
As far as 'break-in' for the shipping/primer fluid on the attys, try this:
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...new-510-has-zero-throat-hit-2.html#post617029
For the morning smoke go for that 24 Rich ECOpure (not EVO ;-) - the big vapor in the morning helps along with the nic hit. :) The way I did it and wasn't even trying to quit at first was whenever I got the urge I decided I'd take three hits from the ecig first - let it hit the bloodstream and see if the urge went away. It did. I would still get mental pictures of smoking which tends to "motivate" you to have one... even after a month, but going on 4 now, that doesn't happen much - maybe once a week.
All my usual times for an analog covered very well by the 24mg Malboro High cart. Morning wakeup and driving to work. Mid-way through the day I found the Atty's had finally lost the tinny metalic taste, and was able to continue on my way normally.
Going out to the smoking area by work, I noticed I was now smelling something I hadn't for a LONG time! The ash-tray! Didn't realize they smelled! I also noticed on my way home that my truck has a little rank smell (LOTS of Fabreese helped).
I can now smell the odor in the garage, where I usually smoked at home. It's pretty eye opening! I'll have to do a little work in there. I'm starting to pick up slight smells I haven't payed attention to before (outdoors, indoors, EVERYWHERE!!).
I tempted fate and stopped by my local watering hole and had a couple beers. YUP! Passed the beer/smoking test as well (did this place really smell like this before?).
Mail man came again, and the rest of my orders came in. My JC V2 pack and my Scorpion Atomizer +blank carts. I couldn't wait to give it all a try, but had to finish fixing dinner.
After dinner, I had enough carts to load each of the JC samples. I tried each one and found them to be very smooth, produced good vapor, and had good variety. I decided my favorites: JC Original, Arctic Menthol, French Vanilla, Chocolate Truffle, Strawberry, and Tennessee Cured.
I dreaded breaking in another atomizer, but used the rapid fix (I remembered from reading before I started the post quoted above). It's almost there!
I look forward to going through the weekend with no problems, and will order my favorites on Monday for a good stock to continue. I'll even get my own banner (quit-clock).
Was it REALLY that easy???
More later......
I found what works and doesn't on keeping me smoke free with the Jaye 510. I'm glad I bought the extra batteries and the PCC, because I went to the Miramar Airshow with the kids over the weekend. Brought the PCC, 3 batteries, and a little pack of carts with different flavors. Found that I needed the ECO Pure 24mg when I started to feel the need, and the JC Original and a couple flavors (18mg) for when I didn't. I started to get a little sore throat for a while, and found the ECO didn't irritate it, but some of the other flavors did.
I was coughing up lung bits (getting rid of the residual flem that smokers carry with them) all weekend, but felt SO much better!!! I also got a response from Terri at Cignot about my PCC screw issue, she's shipping off a replacement screw and gave me a trick to keep it on after. (Great service!)
Now for the product reviews:
I bought the 2-pack of 510's and Atomizers, and a separate atomizer from dietsmokes advertised as the "Scorpion". Only difference I could see is the red band, nothing else. It burned off the coating in the same time as the others, but found it pretty handy to keep my high boost Nic cart on that one because it was easy to identify.
The pre-filled carts I got (Marlboro High) were not too tasty, but really took care of the craving, so I can't complain. Remembering what I read about mixing, I put a couple drops of ECO in there and kept them pretty fresh.
I tried all the samplers from JC and you can see my favorites in my previous post. No change since then, still like them. I did start to feel the JC juices didn't help the throat irritation (only ECO Pure was smooth). I'm ordering my replacement juices in the larger sizes for ECO pure, JC Original, and Arctic Menthol. All the rest will last me quite a while in the sampler sizes.
Cartridges: They all appear to be from the same manufacturer with the same filling. I used the Lipton Teabag method of making my own and really do not see much of a difference between the two. The pre-batted ones do fill easier, and I can remove them, wash them out in clean water, squeeze dry them, and refill with anything else, so they're practical for now. I did this several times this weekend, getting rid of the JC samples I didn't like.
ALL the cartridges came with a rubber topper, which I found you can write on. I put initials of what juice was in them to keep them straight, but once they're on the e-cig, I got confused. I kept 2 e-cigs mounted at all times, in case I wanted a switch without messing with cartridge changing.
I took the label off the prefilled cart packaging and placed them directly on the carts, and never got confused again. I'll have to print some tiny labels up for future use.
:rolleyes:Hey JC: how about including black labels with your samplers? I think we all would agree it would be useful!:rolleyes:
Speaking of JC, they included little droppers for every sample bottle they send. Great idea! You don't have to keep cleaning them for other use! BUT! They don't fit in the nice little tin anymore! BUMMER!! Not sure who the manufacturer is, but the droppers don't quite sit on the samples very well. They look a little crooked, but I haven't had any spill yet, so they work.
So I was out doing my thing this morning, watching the smokers and wondering why I did that, and one of the others comes up to me and says "I had a few E-cigs and been off my 2-pack a day habit for almost a month". He's standing there with an analog in his hand, and I asked why he's back? Turns out he bought his (the 2 part kind) from a mall kiosk, paid over $100 for 2, and ran out of carts. He was out of town for the weekend and had to go back to analogs until he could get back to the mall.
I chatted with him on what I bought, and how well they're doing for me. By the next time I saw him, he told me he went on the site and will probably be getting his next e-cigs from where I did (Terri, another convert coming your way!).
Enough for now! Still happily vaping my way through life! Think I'll get one of those banners now......
2 Weeks and not a puff!
I really think I set myself up for the long haul. Had a few times when I thought about an analog, but after a quick hit of the e-cig, not another thought. Once in a while I catch myself reaching for my lighter (that I stopped carrying a week ago).
I ordered additional juice from JC in the larger size, and ready to order my ECO Pure large bottle as well. Should last me about a month or 2 at my rate. I'll order the reduced nic on my next order, and should be able to wean myself off by Xmas.
A few comments about the equipment:
My batteries are working well. I worried about shorting out the auto bats when I read many posts, but haven't had any problem with them. I only direct-drip with the manuals on, and haven't noticed any leaks. I really don't have to do it very often (once every 2-3 days when I need a quick boost). I bring a little bottle of the ECO Pure in my pocket to keep my carts fresh (just a couple drops every 4 hours or so).
I used to carry a whole smattering of stuff with me, but now that I'm used to it, I'll have 2 e-cigs loaded, and an additional battery in my PCC. 2 carts loaded in the PCC as well. Goes all day with no problem! The manual batteries are really the way to go! They last MUCH longer than the Auto's. I've heard about extended batteries, and haven't found them in manual yet, but will keep hoping!
My issue with my throat being sore is all gone. I contributed that to the harshness of the PG vice the VG juices. I got the reduced PG juices from JC, and they feel much better. I also stopped coughing up lung bits (gross, I know, but my body is cleaning itself out).
CARTS: I replaced all the filling with teabag mods. They work much better, and don't get any inadvertant burning of fibers. If I want to use the cart for another flavor, I simply rinse them out.
Joye 510's: I'm still enjoying MONSTER vape! I was worried about the issue with atomizers others have had, but I rotate between 3, and have had no issues. I usually use the "scorpion" for an alternate flavor, so I can keep track of what's what. Think I'll get a bow tie and a bumble-bee for other flavors later. I'm really pleased with the performance of these E-cigs!!!
I have recommended cignot to many people I see who want to give it a try, but alas, they're still out of stock. Hope they get more in soon!!
I cleaned out all the ashtrays at home, threw out anything that smelled like smoke, and feel MUCH better. I detailed the car to get it out there too! I can REALLY smell it in some friends cars (was it REALLY that bad in my truck???). My kids are happier, and I have more energy for hikes and bike rides. Took a nice canyon hike the other day and wasn't even winded!
VERY HAPPY!!!!:lol:
