Another noobie

Hi,
I made the switch from tobacco to vaping about a month ago. I'm probably going to get shot for this, but I opted to go with the Blu e-cigs, for several reasons. First off, they are available everywhere, so I can re-stock anywhere, instead of waiting for the mailman.
I have ordered some re-fillable cartomizers, and some juice, I will let all know how that works shortly.
I have had a bit of an issue, and not finding an answer in any threads here, I figured I would post the question with my introduction.
It seems the quality control for the Blu carts is sadly lacking (hence my trying the refillable types). In each pack of 5 Blu carts, one will be fabulous, tons of vapor, good taste, etc, one will give me a hernia sucking on it without much effect, and the rest will vary somewhere in between those two extremes. I have actually already had 2 which were completely dry from the start. I'm sure there are some folks on here who have used the Blu, have you had this same experience?

Yes. I started with blu, and the inconsistency in the carts was one of the reasons I started looking for something different.

If it works for you, it doesn't matter. But it sounds like it's not working very well for you. I would recommend jumping to a different setup with a slightly bigger battery. Something like an eGo style.

Welcome to the forum! I started out with a Blu disposable and it was horrible. I threw it out and order the Halo G6 with mini tanks and cartos. Of course now I've upgraded but there are better cigalikes out there than Blu.

You could get an eGo style battery and some cartos from Ikenvape. That would be far superior to Blu without taking you completely out of your comfort zone right now.

I tried the Blu disposable, and I agree, it was pretty bad, so I opted for the Blu rechargeable unit. When it's good, it's fine, I've been cig free for 2 months. I'm hoping the refillable carts will be more consistent than the Blu ones. According to the supplier, the refillables will last a bit longer than the Blu prefilled. If the information (hype) is true, it should cut my costs by 50%, we'll see. When I get going with that, I will post a review of sorts, on here.

I'm another person who started with the Blu's (disposables). It's OK if this is what is helping you... but you will probably do better with a better set up. Your story about the quality control issues is fairly common and to be expected. Things may get better for a little while as the brand changes hands... but it would likely get worse after that.

To Roxis, I've ordered an eGo style starter kit, the Blu batteries just seem to fade out too doggone fast, thanks for the suggestion.

Those cig a likes are alright starters. Thats what I started on mine was Green Smoke, but same as you some cartos worked fine some didnt work at all. I quickly went to an Ego C Twist VV and a Kanger T3S tank. Worked great till I just wanted something bigger lol

As promised, I'm posting a quick review of the refillable cartomizers I have purchased to fit the Blu system:
I purchased a set of refillable cartomizers for the Blu battery system from Easy Vapors (I hope it's OK to mention suppliers here). They seem to have a much better filler than the standard Blu carts, it appears much denser,and holds more juice. They also draw better, much lower drag, and produce better vapor. I noticed at the low end of the battery life, I was still getting good vapor with the new ones, with the standard Blu carts, during the last bit of battery life, I nearly got a hernia trying to suck up some vapor.
I do have a question for the knowledge base here, I have a bottle of regular tobacco flavor juice from this supplier which is a bit much, harsh throat hit, and irritating harsh flavor. Is there anything I can add to it to lower the intensity, maybe DW or VG?
