Ok so I wrapped a coil around a small screwdriver I have that is almost a perfect match to my wick and want to make sure things look good heating wise before I fill the tank up on my Aga-T+. I can't seem to get rid of the glowing on that top leg for the life of me, tension on it may look tight, but I wrapped it around a screwdriver that I put down the wick hole and made it tight so the wraps would stay the same, it is not biting into the wick, just carefully twisted the wick into the coil. No air gaps between wick and coil that I can see so I'm thinking it may be good after I season a bit. Just wanted to check.

Sorry for such poor quality, took the pic with my iPod touch lol

Reading 2.2ohms on my evic too :)

Aaaaaaaaaah success!!!!!! This is awesome, vaping it at 4v/7.2w and the flavor is definitely a lot better than the Protank, Vision Vivi Nova doesn't hold a candle :) No metallic taste so I'm a happy panda :D Think I might need to order another now that I know it's best (for me) to use something down in the wick hole to wrap the coil.

I am using a harder drag on it to help keep air moving, so maybe this is the key to these?

Ok after bumping the voltage up a bit and using it I still get metallicy taste. Top leg is still glowing and had hot spots show that from that pic obviously weren't showing. This is confusing the hell out of me since the coils I'm wrapping look awesome. I just wrapped another with a shorter top leg, and wrapped the wire around the center post twice before tightening down the top nut. Seems like regardless the number of coil wraps I do it is always the same thing. What is going on? Also, any adjustments I make to the coil wraps doesn't seem to do anything with the top leg heating and moving the heat concentration. All coils glow evenly with the center being a tad brighter.

A little more info:
Current coil just wrapped is showing 2.2 ohms on my eVic, tension even all the way around with no air gaps that I can see and on my wick I did fold over the last bit to make sure no random threads were hanging off and causing shorts. This coil when first fired up at 3v glowed totally even aside from the top leg glowing too so I'm puzzled.

All help/opinions appreciated. Thanks!

Alright after about 5 tries making coils this evening I finally got it. Made fine adjustments on this last one and got the hot top leg gone, no hot bottom leg and the coils are all pretty even heated with a little more focus in the center. Wick is wicking great, took about 5 hits in succession and no problems. 2.9ohm coil and I was running it at about 6.5w/4.4v :) Blue Ice from MBV sure got a nice hit to the throat on this thing. Taste is like much better (think I said that with the old coil and it messed up lol). I take that back, this coil taste like junk ;)

eHuman, your blog is a blessing sir! Thank you for taking the time to write it up!

Getting a tad foggy in my bedroom right now :vapor: :D

Will put myself through the paces again tomorrow after work, want a coil more around 2-2.5ohms.
