I LOVE my Riva 510 but while at home i am constantly vaping. 1.5 to 2 PAD smoker so I'm wondering if it would be smarter to also get a PT. I would be fine with a 510 model but am wondering if i could plug it into the wall instead of my USB port. I have the adapter and am wondering if the "business" end is different than my Riva 510. I am wondering if i can get some high volume cartos for it and see if that helps me vape w/o changing cartos as often. The main question i guess will my wall charger with a USB plug in work or do i need to double check the voltage? and do they sell ones w/o a battery. I don't see a point if my Riva's are fully charged. Thanks in advance.

My ego batteries use a USB charger, but I don't plug them into my computer at all. My kit came with a plug that goes into the wall (in my case, into a power strip) and outputs to a USB port, so I plug the charger into that.

There are true passthroughs that do not have a battery at all - they only work while plugged into a power supply. And there are passthrough batteries (more popular) that will let you use it as a passthrough, so you can recharge the battery while you are vaping, but those have a battery in them that allows you to unplug them and use them without being plugged in.

I haven't used a passthrough myself. I'm using ego 1000 mah batteries, and when I leave the house and they have a full charge, I can count on 8 hours or more from a battery.

To avoid having to refill a cartomizer often, I use EMDCC's, which are really big cartomizers. I've been very happy with them.

There are 2 types of PTs -

1. Has a real inline battery and is charging the battery as you vape it (and I think may not work until the battery has some charge) - these typically need 5v 500mA so any AC to USB that puts out 5v and at least 500mA (420mA may be OK), or a motherboard USB port could be used.

2. Does not have a real inline battery (just a battery shaped handle) - these should be hooked to a 5v 2amp (2000mA) USB to AC and never to a computer of battery charger SC to USB. Some of these are also 5v and that may be too much voltage for whatever cartos/attys you are using on the Riva.

I don't know what is good in higher volume cartos. I use a drip tip as a mouthpiece on Boge cartos - easy for me to pull that out to check the stuffing or add juice. I carry a small bottle of juice.
