The website you mentioned does not actually apply to you, unless you are going overseas and bringing the items back to Malaysia and declare your items at the airport upon return. One way to avoid cases like this is to under declare the value of the item with a fake invoice or receipt. The other is not to declare at all and if questioned, declare it as something that is not going to incur high duties. A final way is to basically say that it's something you brought out of Malaysia with you and it's not purchased overseas.

If you are buying to have your items sent to you via mail or courier, it's a different issue. Under declaring is always a good idea. I've had a mod come in as replacement machine parts with no value. It was even dismantled into about 2 dozen parts. Another came in as a flashlight with a very small declared value. Some even declare as a totally unrelated item which is a gift. I've heard Reo wooden mods are declared as a decorative wooden box. Declaring it as anything other than an e-cig is good, as long as the customs officer doesn't note the brandname on the item and checks up on it. Some customs officers are quite well versed with some types of e-cigs these days.

Most e-cig vendors are aware of under declaring the value, non-declaration of value (zero value), declaration as something other than e-cig....and other tricks. Contact the vendor and he/she will be able to help you to do a few things to reduce the possibility of having to pay duty or avoid getting your package confiscated.

In the event that your package is confiscated, I've heard of a case recently where the guy went to talk to the customs people and managed to get his package. Basically, you may have to beg and plead and say that you didn't know and it's you first time and hope that they go easy on you.

As far as I'm aware, and from my conversations with an e-cig seller based in Kuching, the package should arrive directly to Kuching, and is checked by officers at Kuching airport. So far, I have heard that e-liquid with nicotine in it has been confiscated before, but not hardware (Keep in mind that I heard this from the guy, so I can't really say how accurate this is).

I would suggest you speak to innovapor about not not putting the invoice or delivery documentation into the package, and to declare the item as machine parts or something else with hardly any value. Hope that the Kuching officers are not too familiar with this mod and let's it go through without difficulties.

The Provari is a wonderful mod. For most people who are looking to buy their first mod...and usually one and only mod, I say buy the provari. The ability to adjust voltage according to your atty or carto, with the voltage regulated from a freshly charged battery all the way to before the battery needs charging.....being able to get the best out of a carto or atty......it's just a great mod. Using it is not difficult...there are many here on the forum who have embraced the provari recently and I'm sure they will be happy to help.

In that case, get yourself some metal polish, car polish or cape cod polishing cloths. The Alpha is known to tarnish and lose the shine quite quickly. It turns into a dark blue color after some time. Polishing it brings back the bling again. Good luck on your mod purchase. Don't forget to get some LR atomizers and drip tip to complete the package.

Great to hear that. Good luck on your order, and keep us updated on whether or not it gets into trouble with the M'sian customs.

i dont think he will encounter any problem with his order...i have no such problem with 5/5 delivered to me..Malaysia, consider to be liberal with legal items bought or sold online and custom will only be harsh if the items that been banned or prohibited..but saying that they have compassion when my brother brought back "pork pies" from UK..told him not to bring back next time & allowed him to pass through this time..other countries can be very strict & custom officers can be pain-in-the-.....Malaysia Bolehhhh!..regards mafig

just placed my order today..it is shipped using USPS express mail international...hopefully it will not get into trouble..

If outside of KL, normally you won't get in trouble...rest easy. But in KL, especially KLIA, the Kastam Malaysia officers can sometimes be quite good at identifying e-cig equipment and impose some tax or duty. If they happen to have a nice day, then your package will have a clear journey all the way to your door.

I think the customs are well aware of e-cigs now regardless of what you declare the item as. It is just that with CEPT agreement with China that the items are only taxed at 10% sales tax just like my last order. Still, I didn't have to go to customs office to collect it. It arrived with TNT collecting the paid tax amount on delivery. Almost 99% of items coming from China is now charged at 10% sales tax or non at all. If it is coming from the states, I have no experience of such order as I've only been dealing with China. Hope you get your item without much trouble. God speed!

10% is consider very low. to-date, after a year plus in this industry, I still don't see 100% certainty here, the more people I get to know their experience, the more confusing I get, mostly are different. Some having no issues at all (great!), some with low tax, some high tax, some too sensitive to say in my position.

It's something more than just by luck, such as different supplier, different airport, different officers/inspectors, etc.....

But, considering the benefits of using PV to us, it's wort it. you can't value the benefits of health.
