Further to what I said earlier about losing faith in my first impressions, I need to revise my initial review of Vapors Etc. flavors, and add a couple new ones. I don't know how much of this is my tastebuds still recovering from 20+ yrs of smoking, or the juice having sat around for longer, or even my gear.
vanilla - I liked the sample the first time around, but said it was just a bit too subtle. As a result, on my next order I requested flavor boost(double flavor). Well, not only was that overkill, but now I find the amount of flavor in the sample seems perfect, and I wish I could cut the flavor in the one I ordered down to normal(without also diluting the nic. content). I still like this a lot, but I like the original mix even better and would not go with flavor boost the next time.
vanilla tobacco - This flavor was the entire reason I went to vapors etc. to place my first order, but I screwed up, so I went back a couple days later and placed a second order. In the meantime, I had tried and liked the vanilla sample, and convinced myself(mistakenly) that I would like it even better in double flavor. I then decided that if the vanilla would be better in double flavor then so would the vanilla tobacco. Seemed perfectly logical to me at the time, but this too was a mistake. At most I should have requested that he double the vanilla but not the tobacco flavoring. I like the flavor and aroma of this a lot, but it's just a tad too potent for me in double flavor and I'm quite sure the regular strength would have been better. It's not that the flavor or aroma are terribly overpowering, but I find that I can't breathe the vapor after I exhale, it's just so strong that I find I have to turn my head to the side to avoid choking on it. I've managed to work around this by mixing it half and half with the double flavor vanilla and that alleviates the problem. If I knew of a way to cut it down to regular strength without also diluting the nicotine content, I would. I'm slowly learning that sometimes less is more.
root beer - I still agree with most of what I said the first time, except now it tastes plenty sweet enough for me. This is weird. The first time I tried it I thought it had no sweetness at all. Then I tasted just a little but not quite enough. Now it tastes near perfect. This flavor is really excellent if you like old-fashioned root beer.
coconut - Much the same as before, but I'm picking up some subtleties that I missed before, like the slight oily quality of the coconut, and the taste and aroma are really spot on. Still doesn't seem as sweet as I would have expected, but in a few more days who knows?
ginger ale - I'm liking this flavor a whole lot more also. It seems to me to be more like straight ginger than ginger ale(which is fine by me), but not as sweet as I would expect for the latter. What's different is that it no longer tastes nearly as subtle as it did before. Not at all in fact. Like the vanilla I wouldn't go double flavor the next time as I'd thought. Also, I exchanged emails with the owner who mentioned that he was in the process of evaluating a potential new ginger flavor, and I'd be intrigued to try that out as well.
Captain Jack - This stuff was just flat outstanding in my opinion(past tense, 3ml doesn't go very far). I'm going through withdrawal already and will be placing a new order for some today.
English Tobacco - Still okay, but unlike the others, this one still hasn't really grown on me.
menthol full - a bonus sample. A really fresh and potent menthol(this stuff will definitely clear your sinuses) along with a nice smooth very basic tobacco flavor. This is a pretty darn good knockoff of the Salem Lights I used to smoke many years ago, but better. Outstanding vapor and throat hit. This flavor, and their menthol, are now both going on my list for future purchases. I'll probably also try out their Reds(I'm guessing that's the non-menthol version of this flavor) next time I order samples. This stuff is fairly potent, so I think flavor boost would be a bit much.
vanilla clove - This time I got a second bonus sample for some reason. I like this more than I expected. I used to smoke unfiltered Djarum clove cigarettes occasionally many years ago, and one of the first flavors I ordered when I started vaping was TV's kretek, which I found to be an excellent knockoff. This is something quite different(no cinnamon or tobacco, or sweet taste), but it's very nice in it's own right. I like the the taste and even more so the aroma of both clove and vanilla, and this is a very nice fresh, aromatic vape. The balance is just right so it's not overpowering and the aroma doesn't linger. This balance is a feature I like a lot and is common to all the Vapors Etc. flavors I've tried so far. They have excellent flavor, aroma, vapor production, and TH, but all without taking over a room. They're all excellent indoor, if not stealth vapes.
I would definitely consider ordering this flavor in the future also.
By the way, I've been very happy with his 510 cartos at 5/$7 and will probably get more. Also, I noticed that he carries the 2-amp version of car USB adapter that can be used with a USB charger or passthru. Although I don't have a passthru yet I do have plans to get one eventually, so I'm tempted to pick this up since it's only $7 and I typically see them for nearly double this price.
