Hi All, Anthony Vapes back here with my review of the FMCCtech Frozen Starter Kit, please see the bottom for disclaimers and links. Note this is not marked as a sample version.
Introduction:
The FMCC Frozen Starter Kit Pod System is one of the latest Pod Kits from little known company FMCC. Looking at their site they’ve had a few pod kits before. They are a sub brand though of hugsvape who i’ve reviewed quite a things for. They started out in 2018 and really made some great products off the bat. They have a cool coil lead cutting tool i still use all the time, the best dual coil RTA of 2018 IMO with the lotus, a really good single coil squonk rda in the Theseus, and a really good MTL RTA in the chalice. After that though they have kind of went downhill with some poor products, their surge pod was awful, their ring lord and piper RDAs were not good at all, they had a surge squonk mod that was a disaster they were supposed to fix but seemed to have scrapped it completely as it isn’t even on their site anymore and i never got a fixed version. So we’ll see if the Frozen kit can be their return to good products in 2019. The Frozen is a rectangle style AIO Pod system with a built in 2500mah battery and is inhale to fire. It’s available in 6 colors Matte Black, Olive Green, Purple, Steel Blue, Turquoise Blue/Pink and Olive Green/cade blue. Looking around online i see them only out of china but pricing is good at around 20-35USD for the kit (all on pre-order though), about 4 USD for the pod replacements, and around 11 USD for a 5 pack of coils so good pricing.

Kit Rundown
The FMCC Frozen is a rectangle style AIO (all in one) Pod kit, meaning there isn’t a separate mod or tank that can be used with anything else. It does have replaceable pods so you can carry spares, but those are sold separately and the coils themselves are replaceable inside the pod much like the aspire breeze 2 or nautilus AIO. It’s a pretty large size all things considered and comparable to a dual 18650 mod height and width wise but much thinner. It’s about as thin as an orion pod. There is an air adjustment on it which is cool. It’s the same style as the aspire pod systems (spryte, breeze 2, and nautilus AIO) where the air adjust screws into the coil then screws into the pod. It can be a little hard to adjust due to the pod itself covering a bit of the air adjust. It has a large capacity of 5 ml. The battery is listed at 2500mah so pretty massive size and the largest i’ve seen on a pod system and that plus the juice capacity really justifies the devices overall size. It features built in USB charging where they don’t list an amp limit. I tested this only 1 time due to the battery being so big it’s hard to kill and the issues with the air sensor i’ll talk about in a bit with an inline USB meter and for the charge rate it held steady around .49A so it’s .5A charge rate. 1A charging would have been nice especially based on the battery size. Battery size wise i got around 2100 mah so it is a bit overstated but still at least double the size of most other pod systems on the market so hard to complain too much but i will ding them for that. It charges in about 5 hours so having 1A charging would have made that much faster. It does have passthrough vaping as well which is great. The drip tip is proprietary and part of the pod itself. The Frozen is very nicely built and feels solid and has some niece weight. The coloring is also nice. I luckily got the olive green and it’s solid olive green with a matte finish and shows no signs of wearing.
The Pod itself is easy to fill. It comes with an empty pod and the coils are separate and screw into the AFC piece which then screws into the pod. The pods attach to the battery via a clip in system and are easy to get in and out and fit really well so good job there and fit it nicely with no wiggle or play. To release the pod just push in the only button on the device which is located right below the juice window. To fill them it uses a standard rubber plug you remove to fill and the fill hole is large enough to use with a fine tip bottle easily. The rubber plug even for me and my non fingernails was easy to remove as it hangs a bit off the side of the pod for grip.
Usage is pretty easy. It’s a simple device with just the 1 button for releasing the pods. no modes or anything and is inhale to fire and can’t be turned off. It’s direct output device. There is a nice easy to see LED in the middle of the device between the top and bottom sections. It’s only on when vaping or charging and shows your battery level. Green means 70% (3.9V) or more, Blue means 30-70% ( 3.5V to 3.9V) and Red means below 30% (3.5V). It also acts to show you protections. When charging it’ll stay lit the color of the charge then flash white 4 times when fully charged. There is also a cut out window to see the juice level but the pods are tinted so it’s not very easy to see the juice level. I really wish companies would stop tinting pods so we can see our juice level easily.
Coil Performance and details
The FMCC Frozen Pod Kit comes with 2 coils which is great. All kits should always include 2 coils/pods, so happy they did as a lot of them seem not to. No spare pod but you can buy those seperate if you please if you wanted to carry a spare. There is 1 coil option only. It’s a mesh .9 ohm coil rated 12-19 watts. I used 50/50 nic salt juices 20 mg nicotine and 70/30 3mg juice as well. It’s a DTL vape and a low watt one. Flavor is good on it as well. I can’t really speak on the life though sadly. I vaped enough on it to be able to discharge the battery (which took forever with this battery size lol) and while the flavor was good i had major issues with the air sensor. I vaped 1 pod with the high mg nic salts and 1 with the low mg juice. Each pod with a new coil. My issue was the air sensor doesn't work well and is very iffy which made it a challenge to vape so much juice. So i swapped out the 1st coil before it died to see if it was a coil issue or a device issue. Using the 2nd coil wielded the same results. The air sensor is iffy. It works at times and at other times won’t fire or cuts in and out so i couldn’t use the coils enough to burn them out for the life.
Pros:
So with all that said, do I recommend this POD kit or not? I don’t like to do a hard yes or no, but this one leans pretty heavy towards the no for me. It’s a shame as overall it’s a really nice device with good coils and a large battery and capacity and could make for a good portable low watt DTL set up on the go, but sadly with the air sensor issues which is my only big complaint i can't recommend it. Had it been a fire button device or if the air sensor worked i would have recommended it so maybe they can make a V2 with a fixed air sensor or a fire button as it really fills a nice niche in vaping but as it stands now i can’t recommend it until that gets fixed. - a bit large for a pod system (but justified by the capacity and battery size)
- battery size is overstated (really around 2100mah not 2500 mah)
