Here I am stressing out a little about the latest "symptom" that's popped up since I started vaping three weeks ago.
Woke up feeling as though I'd undergone botox treatment under and around both eyes. Didn't look nearly as bad as it felt but very disconcerting non the less.
I did look a bit younger though.
Ok so automatically I'm freaking out thinking.....Is this an allergic reaction? Swollen face?
Hardly likely because I did have a stye in one eye leading up to this. I know it was a stye - yesterday it seemed to be forming a head and was very painful.
So in all likelihood infection has passed from one eye to the other - or at the very least overnight a build up of fluid has traveled across to the other side?. Gravity? I've seen the fluid from an "egg" on my kids forehead travel down to settle under her eyes. Weird but it happens.
And the reason I got a stye in the first place? Well I'm no doctor but I reckon that when you give up smoking it must throw your body into absolute CHAOS, therefore reducing your immunity and as a result all kinds of things can crop up.
Plus, I have a nose piercing which I do fiddle with at times, and styes can be caused from the staphylococcal bacteria found in the nose.

I've also been experiencing some very annoying face flushing. Horrible! God help me when I go through menopause. I'll be walking around with cold packs permanently pressed on both cheeks!
Again the thought crossed my mind.....Could this be from vaping?

Enough is enough though!
If you haven't already gathered yes I am a bit of a stress head and seem to be very in tune with every squeak my body utters (hate that!)
So, I found this Anxiety Symptoms
A list of hundreds of anxiety symptoms that I thought I'd post up here in this section in case there are newbies to vaping, like me, who also are prone to hearing every single damn squeak of protest their bodies are announcing at this very stressful time (quitting smoking!)

This may very well allay some of your fears IF you know you are the type who's stress/anxiety manifests itself very readily physically.
By no means do I advocate self diagnosis , nor consulting the internet alone which can lead to "cyberchondria".
Of course if symptoms persist.......DO see the doctor.

It's just my thought that perhaps many of the symptoms that may occur as people take the simultaneous swap from cigarette smoking to vaping may very well be simply from the stress your MIND (and body) is going through after giving up a habit that may have stretched for decades.

I feel better already having seen that face flushing is on the list and in all probability that's why I'm experiencing it.

Sending soothing calm vibes your way!

Sending soothing calm vibes back at you! Don't stress ... I remember perfectly well what your going through. I felt all kinds of weird stuff going on when I switched 16 months ago. Trust me... it all goes away! After a couple months you won't even think twice, and will look to other causes for any ailments that you might be experiencing. Remember also that with vaping your being 'stimulated' without the other 'calming' effects of analogs which naturally can make people feel a bit anxious + your body is going through withdrawal from other nasty chemicals and of course all the other changes (for the better) from the effects of quitting years of smoking. All this 'newness' combines to make people a bit paranoid I think (myself included) :)

With that said, do be vigilant. In rare cases, I have heard told of people experiencing allergic reactions to PG, or otherwise not taking to vaping very well—but I think this is pretty rare. Do please see a doctor if you have any serious concerns. If I may, I would suggest however that you drink lots of extra water!!! Congratulations to making the switch and good luck with your anxiety.

oummmmmmm :p

Thanks Douglas :) Yeah, I never thought of it that way, that with vaping we're getting the stimulant effect but not the calming effect . That's so true! Why, what is it exactly in cigarettes that gives us that calming feeling because THAT is what I am definitely missing.

I actually went to the doctor yesterday.
She couldn't explain the fluid build up under my eyes - said it wasn't related to my eye which turned out wasn't a sty after all. Something else but it's going away now anyway.
The doctor did say though, like we know, all kinds of stress related issues can crop up when you quit smoking so who knows.
I'll just hang in here!
