Hi All,

I've been browsing the forums for a few weeks now, and I have to say this is a great place!

At any rate, I received my kr8 (PS Ace) the other day, and while I love it, I already want to step it up. These are great for "on the go", but I'm looking for something for home use.

What I'm looking for...

  • Great Vapor Production
  • Moderate TH (for some reason the Ace has almost too much TH for me, not sure why. Could be that I'm just not used to it yet)
  • Solid battery life

Size isn't really an issue as I'm going to keep using the ACE as my "go out" kit. So far, I'm considering the eGo, the PS icon, and the PS Prodigy v3. (prodigy is at the top of my price range though and pushing it a bit)

Any thoughts or recommendations as to which direction I may want to go? Thanks in advance for your help!!!!

I am partial to the eGo. Good price for execellent battery life and lots of choices for attys/cartos. Many Vendors carry these parts which will allow you to dial in your TH preferences. For example a LR atty will give you more vapor and a stronger TH while standard atty will be much mellower. Browse through the various posts there is a multitude of info here on ECF. Best of luck.

If you want to stay with the KR808d system I would go with the Elegant fron CigEasy battery life is about 4 times that of the KR808d and the carts are the same. If you want to drip just add a 901 addy. The Elegant is a little shorter then the standard KR808d but just a little fatter they feel great in your hand holding them.

Thanks for the replies! I'm leaning towards the eGo I think. I'll update you on how it goes.

Sorry to pop in, but I have seen the EGo (Riva) from Liberty Flights, and I am also considering it, Though they come in two forms..with the 510 atty and the 901 atty..I am after throat hit, and vapor mainly. On the site specs the both are given "Excellent" ratings regarding TH and vapour.. Which one would be the best?

Response to this post could also be beneficial to Mephisto.

As far as TH goes the Ego is rated at 3.2v the Elegant at 3.7v they both look the same and I believe the Elegant has a little longer battery life, both are great e-cigs.

There are many devices available. Most are Dependant on the battery voltages to dictate the voltage that you are using the device at. That leads to different batteries and chargers, to adjust the voltage.

I like the Buzz, it does it all, one set of batteries, one charger, many different ranges of voltage in one device.
The battery life is very good, but it varies dependent on the variables of its use.
The Buzz has solid construction, inside and out.
Many reasonably priced end caps for use with different model devices.
Excellent customer care, and its made and serviced in the USA.

I stopped searching and buying when I started using my Buzz.

The only thing I know about doing that is you will shorten the battery life using the LR atties on any e cig you use. I use a standard 901 atty on my Elegant and have a hard time killing the battery. To my thinking it's all about the delivery system and which works bet for you, I only drip at home the rest of the time I use carto's.

I think of the choices you had, I would go with the Icon. The size isn't too big at all and you can use batteries that are much more easily and inexpensively available than the proprietary ones of the eGo and Elegant types. I believe it's also available in the 808 connection so you could use the cartomizers and stuff that you already have.

I would suggest going with the eGo with a drip tip, I have the delrin which is plastic and costs around $2. The eGo has good battery life and using a drip tip is easy and you don't have to mess with carts or cartos. I just fill a 3 ml bottle of whatever I want to vape for the day and I am good to go. For less th, try ordering your juice with more vg then pg or maybe a 50/50 mix.

If I could recommend any one thing after the time and devices I have purchased it is the Riva. You can get one at Liberty Flights for next to nothing. I have Ego and Riva and the difference is night and day quality wise. They both do the same thing but the Riva has a soft button that never sticks and has some threading differences. I have used both and only the ego seems to seem juice when I am dripping or using a cart.

I like the Riva set up because a battery can last me 8 hours and with a recharge time of 2-3 hours on almost all batteries this offers a payoff. Also the Riva is a standard 510 battery connection so you have tons of options for suppliers and set ups. I bought some adaptors to let me use my old atomizers on the new battery. If you have a kit already spend the 3-5 bucks to buy the adaptor.

I have tried the rn4081 (smoke everywhere) the M401 (xhale02) the 510 standard and low resistance, and a 510 cartomizer. So far I like them all for different reasons. I don't know that you will land on any one device but the Riva can adapt to most anything. The Riva even comes in a native 901 set up.

I chose the 510 standard due to it's popularity and increased demand = increased production = increased efficiency = lower cost of production = lower cost... or that's my hope.

Best of luck!

Lot's of information so far... thanks to all! (though my head is of course swimming a bit :) ) I may sit back and keep using my kr8 for a few days before I jump the gun and purchase the wrong product. Though I guarantee i'll end up owning many of the models discussed so far... nothing like trading one habit for another! :)

I like to think of vaping as my new hobby, smoking was a bad habit, vaping is a great new hobby...lol.

Yep, I agree. I would go for something that doesn't use proprietary batteries for sure. Why look for a temporary solution to a long term problem? Batteries do die no matter what you do. You might as well find a mod that lets you buy batteries cheaply when they go.
