I couldn't find a kit that I liked mainly due to not being able to choose the nic base as VG or getting only VG in the kit. I'm making my own juice for dripping and wasn't interested in making PG based juices and wanted max VG. So I ordered 500ml of VG, 50ml of 50MG VG nic base, and 45ml of flavorings to start out. I really don't have any hardware. I have been saving my glass juice bottles from my pre-made liquids. I don't have any syringes, large bottles for storing my base mix, or whatever else I'm going to need. So is there any hardware sets that don't include any ingredients and just the hardware?

You can get cheap syringes and needles at farm supply stores for livestock.

Bed Bath and Beyond has a $3 shot glass marked in ml oz tbs and tsp

Wizard Labs has a nic test kit for under $10 that has some syringes and blunt tip needles. Why not test your nic and see that you got what you paid for and avoid any mistaken mixes?

Paul, that is a great idea. For $8.99, you get:

(2) - 3ml syringes
(1) - 14 guage blunt tip needle for VG solutions
(1) - 16 guage blunt tip needle for PG solutions
(1) - 20 guage blunt tip needle for hydrochloric acid titrant
(1) - 11.8ml (.4 oz) bottle of bromothymol blue pH indicator
(1) - 120ml (4 oz) bottle of 0.1N analytical reagent grade hydrochloric acid
(1) - 8 oz white cup with lid
(1) - Instruction Sheet

Put clear packing tape over the syringe markings and you can use them for a long time. The bottles can also be reused after cleaning. Note for anyone that has not done a titration before though: be patient, pay attention, and swirl the solution frequently, especially near the endpoint (color starts to change but goes back after swirling). I remember my first few titration chem labs, probably half the students blew it by getting impatient, overshooting, and missing the actual endpoint.

How did you measure the 7.2ml nicotine and 6.45ml of PG and the other volumes you mention? The beaker looks to be large and graduations not that specific. Is it by WEIGHT? I'm a bit dense so sorry to "not get it".

On the scale !!! using digital scale...7.62 ml is 7.62 grams on scale...

Assuming the 7.62 ml is PG, it is 7.894 grams on a scale. PG weighs 1.036g / ml. 7.62 grams would be 7.355 ml.
Assuming the 7.62 ml is VG, it is 9.517 grams on a scale. VG weighs 1.259g / ml. 7.62 grams would be 6.1 ml.

That could be a significant difference in your recipe. Use a calculator that provides your output in grams.

I must say, who cares...
lol.
It all vapes fine 2me.
But be my guest...and request the ejuice coder, to change the output from ml's to mg's.
God I love BEEER..!!!
For PG based ingredients it is not a significant difference. For those people mixing with VG it can be significant and they will probably care. The difference in using 1 gram/ml and 1.259 gram/ml is 20%. Your VG base will be 20% lower than expected. That also means that if you are using VG to dilute your PG based nicotine that your nicotine level will be higher than you expected it to be. Somebody may also care about the increased nicotine level.

I am not questioning your method of mixing. If it works for you then everything is good. But for the people new to mixing they need to understand the effects of using the 1 ml = 1 gram rule.

That's pretty funny, considering Hotrod created and maintains a fine juice calculator application that uses weight as well as volume measurements. Maybe you should check it out:
