"Max VG" is just a term. Most flavoring companies uses PG as the carrier. So depending on how much flavoring a supplier uses to make their juice the end result could be 80/20 VG/PG if the flavoring is in PG.

As far as taste goes, as long as high VG juice is aged long enough, it should taste the same. What will be different is throat hit. PG provides some throat hit, VG doesn't. Higher VG will give you more vapor.

I use max VG and I like it a lot better than the 50/50 stuff I ordered at the very first. That seemed too "harsh" to me, so the next juice I ordered, I asked for the maximum amount of VG (with the exception of the flavor, of course, which is in PG), and I love it. It's nice and smooth and never "goes down sideways."

I'm not even really sure what "throat hit" is supposed to mean. If it's the part that makes you cough, I don't want it. With my max VG juice, if I take a nice, long, slow draw (I'm using a little 650 EVOD), it has that slight "thick" feeling in my throat like regular tobacco cigarettes had, but it doesn't make me cough. The 50/50 made me cough unless I was very, very careful. Also, maybe I have a sensitivity or some other type of intolerance to too much PG, who knows?

Anyway, I like the max VG.

I prefer as high of VG as possible, to me I get a better feeling throat hit and the vapor production is more substantial, if that matters to you. Also, most vendors should be able to make a Max VG blend taste similar to say a 50/50. Also, if you plan to use a dripping atomizer or RDA, a thicker juice is preferred to prevent leaking.

I mix my own juices.... I like blowing large clouds so when I am in the cloud blowing mood I usually make a mixture of 80% vg.... That is usually good enough for thick dense clouds. I have made 90% VG and used it for cloud blowing but I don't notice lots of difference between 80% and 90% even though I know that 90% does indeed make thicker vapor. When I am in the mood to vape more like I am smoking, then I use 60% VG... The vapor is thinner on 60 but the throat hit, or burn in the throat is stronger. Yes, you could use 100% Vg but you wouldn't have much of a throat hit.

So are there 100% vg juices?

It depends on what all the "ingredients" are in. Most flavors are in PG because it carries the flavor better. Some companies sell flavors that are in VG, however, because some people are actually highly allergic to PG, and even a little bit will cause them trouble. Then there's the nicotine base, if you get juice with nicotine. The stuff we have for DIY is in a 50/50 blend of PG/VG, as are the flavor concentrates we use. So there's quit a bit of PG in my "max VG" juice, but no ADDED PG. Just what's in the nic base and the flavors.

If you were allergic to PG, then it would behoove you to seek out 100% VG juices, or make your own, but if you're not, just getting "max VG" will probably be more than enough. I don't chase clouds, I'm just a lowly tootle-puffer ;) but I like the sweeter thicker vapor that the "max" VG gives, as opposed to the 50PG/50VG blend.

    Does that make sense?

    to @Joray12

Something like a 1.8 ohm Nautilus coil I run at about 11 watts, it's great for mouth to lung because it doesn't need that much airflow to make good vapor. However if I was using say, an 0.5 ohm build I would need to run it at 35ish+ watts and open the airflow wide open or the vapor will become too hot. To get good airflow you pretty much have to take a direct lung hit to keep the cooling air going over the coils. This is why you look at something like a Nautilus Mini and it has tiny little airholes, while you look at something like an Aspire Atlantis V2 or Subtank Mini and it has massive airflow holes.

    It makes perfect sense.

On the note about mouth to lung inhalation, it says on the book for my subox mini that .5 ohm should be mouth to lung and 1.5 ohm should be lung only. That makes no sense to me and seems backwards.

Hellerr. I started on 70pg/30vg and just went to 50/50. Curious as to what maxvg e juice tastes like and how it vapes. Thanks!
To be honest, max vg juice is overrated (unless you are allergic to PG or like clouds exclusively). It does not provide that throat hit and the flavor is extremely lacking in max vg juice. I think most people go max vg for allergy and cloud production reasons, but the TH and flavor is not really there.

I highly enjoy high VG juice in my Subox. Some say it cuts down on the flavor, but most use high VG to get the big clouds, so it'll balance out. Maybe the flavor goes down, but you'll never notice, since you get a thicker, more dense vape. From my Subox, max VG, and the 0.5 coils rock with direct lung inhales.

I do not think you can buy real 100% VG juice. Flavorings are very poorly soluble in VG, but there are some "no PG" flavorings, meaning that their base consists of VG-water-alcohol. In addition if you try real (DIY) 100% VG, I doubt very much it will be really usable with anything but RDA.
Once I wanted to reduce throat hit, so I went from 30/70 PG/VG to 10/90 water/VG, not flavored. It was not bad, but a bit musty or oily for me. In addition I found out that most (all?) of throat hit in my juices was from nicotine anyway, so I switched back to 30/70 PG/VG.

I like max vg liquids in my Subtank Nano. I find it feels smoother while inhaling and doesn't burn my throat like higher pg liquids. I can vape 6mg at max vg, while 6mg at a higher pg burns my throat bad for at least a few hits and makes me cough. I'm starting to buy only max vg juices because it just feels better. I don't notice any difference in flavor.
