Just curious. I never have in the past, but my most recent order (about two weeks ago) I was charged VAT after submitting the PayPal payment. All correspondences to MMV have gone unanswered save one which simply stated I was not exempt. I can only hope that other customers from EU non-member countries aren't being assessed this tax, and that it is indeed a one time honest mistake on someone's part...

I buy sneakers from oversea sites all the time and they always take out the VAT. You might wanna check on that.

Yup. I have:

VAT on imports and exports
For the purpose of exports between the Community and non-member countries, no VAT is charged on the transaction and the VAT already paid on the inputs of the good for export is deducted - this is an exemption with the right to deduct the input VAT, sometimes called 'zero-rating'. There is thus no residual VAT contained in the export price.

General overview - European commission

There are several vaping companies that charge US buyers VAT (value added tax), I assume they just pocket the extra money. You either just grin and bear it or find a different company to deal with.

Better to contact them, they should be happy to correct as they are liable for large fines if an Inland Revenue audit spots them doing it. A company would be idiotic to mess with the VAT man over trivial amounts.
