Hi guys,
I'm farely new to vaping and I've been trying to find the best vape for the best price and I was recommended the eleaf ijust2. It looks amazing and my only con is that the tank it comes with does not have an rba section. Im fine with the rda but Ive been told that they burn through juice like crazy and I'm looking for something that would better preserve juice so that Im not constantly having to buy more. And again Im new so I dont know all the details of everything but if I could get some info on it, it would be greatly appreciated!

Hello, and welcome to ECF. From looking at the ijust2, it looks like the tank uses a premade 0.5 ohm resistance coil head. Generally speaking, rebuildable tanks (RTAs) tend to use more juice than the premade coil heads do. RDAs (rebuildable dripping atomizers) are a separate category from tanks. If you are looking for a cheap rebuildable tank, the Orchid V6 is always a solid choice-but from the look of it the ijust2 is a great starter kit.

RDA's/RTA's save you $$ because you won't have to buy replacement coils. More power = more vapor. So if you use a higher Ω coil you will vaporize less juice.

If you are really looking to save money on juice consider getting into DIY.

How many mls of juice are you going through in a day?
What do you currently use to vape with?

What you save by building your own coils will likely have a major portion go to the juice vendors due to the extreme amount of juice that sub ohm tanks use compared to well... non sub-ohm tanks.

At least that's what I've found. If I'm having to be tight on juice I'll swap in a higher resistance coil and turn down the wattage although I do prefer the small vapor cloud that I make with the subtank mini. But every time I see my juice bottle getting near the bottom it bugs the hell out of me how much sub tanks use.

I can't find any specs on the voltage the iJust 2 supplies. It uses a 510 connector, according to the website, so any 510 RBA ought to fit. How well it will power such a tank I can not say. If we assume the output voltage is the same as a standard IMR battery, it should work perfectly. But you really ought to start slow, or measure the voltage. You wouldn't want to build a tank for 4.2 volts and hand it on an 11.1 3sLiPo pack.

Really my main worry is the money going to the e liquid. Now Ive been finding some cheaper juices online but normally Ive just been going to my local vape shop and it cost me $14-15 for 30ml and that lasts me like 2 weeks. The first vape I got was just a v2 ecig and I am now using a kangertech evod tank with an anyvape evod battery and I feel like I havent really gotten a good experience out of vaping yet compared to what other people have said. A big thing for me is the throat hit and the preservation of e juice(I feel like even the kangertech evod tanks burn through the liquid pretty fast). I definitely like more vapor as well but those are the 2 main features that Im looking for. The whole rba rta rda thing is new to me as well so Im not too familiar with those but Ive been told that the rdas run through juice very quickly so thats why I was looking into the alternatives. But if I have been misinformed about those than I wouldnt mind at all using the rdas. Also I was highly recommended the eleaf ijust2 as my first main starter kit and after doing some research it looks amazing so that is one I am likely going to buy unless I find a better option.

You should seriously consider making your own juices. I DIY, and my cost per milliliter is under 5 cents. Seriously.

If juice preservation is an issue (i.e. cost is the issue) and you think your current setup goes through too much juice your only option is to DIY.

Regarding throat hit:

PG = Propylene Glycol - the "flavor carrier" of e-liquid. A secondary source of "throat hit", but not as strong as the nicotine concentration. Some people have a sensitivity or even an allergy to PG. It's very thin.

VG = Vegetable Glycerin - the "vapor maker" of e-liquid. Used as a sweeter in many food sources, and also as a skin emollient. It's very thick.

PG and VG are often used together in different ratios in e-liquid. For example, a 50/50 PG/VG ratio. Many juice vendors offer a range of different ratios as far as PG/VG.

I go through more e-liquid with my Subtank Mini using the RTA deck, but I attribute that to vaping more...cuz I likes it. I was never a chain smoker, but I find that I am vaping constantly. I am making an effort to dial it back. I DIY, but still, there's no need to chain vape...except maybe in the evenings sitting on the back porch with a good Kentucky Bourbon.

Ok so Ive been doing some further research and I think I have a bettering understand of the tanks and how they work. So with the eleaf ijust 2 coil head can you rebuild those? Like make your own coils and use your own cotton? Because it is more like a cartomizer and there's not as much space in comparison to an rda. Or generally do people just keep buying more premade coils? And again Im looking for the best price option. If using an rda and consistently filling up on juice is cheaper than having to continually buy stock coils for an rta than Im totally up for that I'm just not sure which is more cost efficient. Thanks

My RBA subtank cracks through the liquid at an astonishing speed.

DIY is the way forward once you start deliberately using/making low nic liquid and vaping it at higher power. For me, the liquid cost has more bearing on the running costs. I can use factory coils for less than the price of 1 cigarette a day, but that's UK tobacco prices for you.

I was concerned about juice consumption, too, when I got an RTA. However, I've been building it at 1.2-1.3 and I've restricted the airflow, and I don't vape at particularly high wattage. I'm not getting anywhere near the vapor production that it's capable of, but it's a level I'm comfortable with. The point is, my juice consumption increased only slightly over what it was with a Nautilus.

Which RTA did you get?
What wattage are you running yours at?
How many mls/day of juice are you using?

@Younghorsejr is using currently using an Evod tank and thinks he's going through a lot of juice/day.
