Hi there. I've been using a Prodigy V3 for some time, and like switching to using the 6v batteries for the bigger hit, or when my cartos start giving out. However, there's that little bit in-between where 3.7v is too little, and 6v is too much...

I'm starting to think that a VV mod is needed to allow me to tweak the voltage to suit the carto and my taste at the time, but I'm not sure if it's just function for the sake of it.

Any thoughts?

Another alternative would be a less expensive 18650 mod that can also take those 4.8v batteries. It's not VV, but you'll have the choice to go 3.7, 4.8 or 6 volt. I don't know much about the Prodigy V3 but you might be able to use those 4.8v batts in it.

Edit: looks like it - http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/puresmoker/195764-v3-5v.html

Yes, you can use the 4.8V batteries in the prodigy's. If you want inexpensive and don't mind a box mod, get ahold of JamesW at Krimson Kustoms and get an evercool VV box mod. They are really nice and well built. Will run about $60 depending on what you want him to put on it. You can even get an LCD readout.

Post #127 are his current prices.....http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...tage-evercool-quality-look-great-price-7.html

Provari's are great! I just realized that you are in the UK! Im not sure how much shipping is from here, but it I know that you can pick one up from enjuice.com, which is a UK vendor and if you use ECR69 you get 5% off. If you just want to try out VV, you can grab a VV box mod from Madvapes.com for around $35 usd. They work great.

Oh my you will open a can of worms with this one. For many (myself included) once you get a VV in your hands it is difficult to go back. There are several top end VV's out there right now and they are really nice PV's. First figure out what is important to you in a MOD (i.e style, size etc) then you can narrow your search. I have several Darwins, A Provari and an Infinity. Many of the top VV's have a rabid fanbase but in the end you will need to decide for yourself which is right for you. For me I give the Darwin top place with the Vari a close second. Many members here also like the Buzz and some of the VV bottom feeder Mod's. Most of the mentioned platforms have threads dedicated to them so read up. Best of luck and happy vapes

Haha thanks liv. Can of worms officially opened it seems... Good advice an I'll definitely do some homework.

Thanks.

Your welcome and I know how difficult it can be. You see something you want and want it NOW. I know the top end VV's seem pricey but look at it this way------ How much is a carton of smokes in S. Whales??? In NY a pack is $10.20 so for just over the price of 2 cartons I can have a top end VV. While they seem costly on the sites when you look at it that way it is not such a bad deal for a unit that will last a long time versus a pile of empty packs, butts and ashes that you end up with from the two cartons in about two weeks. The lower cost VV's are nice if you want to see what it is all about but in IMO a well built VV is worth the investment if you are going to stick with vaping for sometime. Best of luck.

Yeah I really don't see the issues on money, when people say wow 200 dollars thats expensive, I am like, you spent that in a month or two in smoking. I think I am going to set up a payment plan. I will be a lender for PVs. You send me 10 dollars a day for two months and when you are all done I will send you a Darwin. here is my pay pal address. lol. The one thing I can't say enough about the Darwin is the price. No charger, No batteries to buy, one year of free batteries, 2 year free warranty. I love my Provari and it looks so nice with tanks and such, but man you just can't lose with the price on the Darwin. Spend 60 bucks on a plastic mod, get 3 - 4 sets of batteries, a good Pila charger and your more than half way to a Darwin.

The best straight 5 volt PV is the GLV 2, hands down. Comes with a lifetime warranty, built to last, strong as a tank.

Variable volt, both the Darwin and Provari are top of the line. I prefer the Darwin for the technology plusses but both are very good.

5 volt GLV: Electronic Cigarettes and E-Liquid - Great Lakes Vapor

Darwin: Nhaler

With proper atty/carto 3.7v works great, less to go wrong, cheaper and more efficient... Key is picking correct atty/carto.

This is close to what I was gonna say when I saw this tread. Even though I'm thoroughly enjoying my new VV Buzz Pro and it being a present to myself, following emus' advice can save one a lot of coin and still enjoy some awesome vaping.
