I got the double barrel root beer juice from mov. When I tried it the first time I thought it was pretty good but the more I hit it the worse it tasted. Figured I would let it steep for about a week. Just tried it again just now and no root beer flavor now it tastes like sawdust.
Has anyone else had this happen? Or did I just lose the bad taste lottery?

I wouldn't expect that from MOV either, but you just never know.

Hundreds of juices I thought were so-so during my first year of vaping---not dreadful, but not good enough to keep from banishment to my juice dungeon---now, early in my third year, taste like absolute swill when I revisit them on rare occasions. Truly wretched pond scum. This includes most tobacco blends using lab-based synthetics, a whole gaggle of awful coffees, and some artificial-tasting fruit or dessert vapes that were never very good, but are now much worse.

Some of that may be aging---flavors degrading after two years, the equivalent of Juice Alzheimer's---but most of it is that in the interim I've vaped many of the finest juices on the planet, and I'm getting spoiled (happily).

Copper Creek's Honeysuckle was really good when I first got it. I've been trying lots of juices from several different vendors since then. I vaped some more of the Honeysuckle the other day and it wasn't nearly as good as I remembered it. Could be that my taste buds have changed quite a bit though. I've still only been vaping for about 7 1/2 months.

To update double barrel has been steeping for around 2 weeks and is now my favorite vape. I am getting old fashioned root beer on the inhale with a light almost creamy vanilla on the exhale. Truly spectacular.

This is giving me hope. I got a new juice today that I was reeaallly looking forward to. It may as well be labeled "sweaty roller skate". Honestly, the first juice I've tasted that I could have gladly thrown away the entire bottle within 5 minutes after pulling it from the mailbox.

I've uncapped it for the day and decided to keep it and let it steep for a week or two, just to see. Hopefully I'll have results as good as you did.

In my course of steeping it I uncapped it overnight 3 different times. Shook it a few different times and then just let it sit. After about 2 wks give or take and it turned out awesome. Haven't stopped vaping it since last night. Went from meh to yuck to spectacular .

And you've just discovered the power of steeping ;)
There is truth in all the talk of steeping. I wish that vendors would state on their sites, on the same part where the description of the juices are, what the steep time is for that particular flavor. It would go a long way to help new people to vaping like their juices more. It would actually help their sales in that we would wait till the juice was tasty instead of the fresh sometimes nasty taste.

^So true. I get all excited to try a new juice, expecting it to be at least tolerable straight from the mailbox. When it's truly horrendous (read: "sweaty roller skate"), it makes it hard to want to pick it up again even after it's steeped. My fault for being impatient? Maybe.

I immediately transfer new juice to a glass bottle (if it isn't already in a glass bottle) if it won't be used within a week or two. I was stocking 6mo. - 1yr. supply of juice but I found the flavor changes too much after a few months. Not all juices, but a lot of the ones I prefer. Now I stock ~60-days stored in glass bottles.

    No you can't
One of your most important tools in vaping should be a  log book with lots of notes. keeping track how long you steep a juice or was it used soon as you got it. If and when flavor changed. If you added something to the juice, how it turned out? etc etc.

Also keep track what juice is in your tank and when you had to clean/change coils.

It amazes me to a certain extent the way juice is handled. It is a badge of honor to get fresh made juice, but then you need to let it sit for a few days to a few weeks. Seems like their would be a market for pre-steeped juices.

Unfortunately with all the different variables such as: PG/VG Ratios, nic strength for each PG/VG ratio, there would be a lot of inventory sitting around filling up space until such the time that someone wants that particular flavor with this particular nic and this particular PG/VG.

And then you have all the different bottle sizes!
