The problem with the alternative to approach is that the Antiz have been all about the “reduction in numbers of smokers down to zero” bandwagon for three decades and positioning vaping as an alternative to will only strengthen their position. I don’t think that government will just roll over that lobby group for the sake of revenues; the backlash would relegate whichever government made such a pronouncement to the backbenches.

The Current (CBC Radio) story this week is evidence of this.

Although I have to say that your alternative to approach has its merits but it is least likely to occur given the current climate of tobacco use.

Oh and I don't think I needed to say it, but I will. I'm all about it being an alternative to smoking.

nope, i never got that at all :p

I am going to stick with my original statement that it is a alternative to not a cession of, however i would have to say you yourself have a valid point which is there needs to be some middle ground in there as well.

I think what we need to do is look at the vendors south of the border, and if need be go all the way back to 2008/2009 and try to pinpoint how they are able to be so open about it when the FDA is in the same stasis as HC which is they have not made a ruling on them.

I realize this is going to take a lot of work, but it beats being a arm chair when the more recent CLA incident happened. What do we prove by swooping in and being snarly and using ALL CAPS RAGE!!!!? You know i have been thinking that if it could help the community (even on a global scale) that i would bring back the 510 magazine

Well yes....and no. Let me explain.

It was actually something my wife picked up on (and oddly she is not a vaper, but a ex smoker of 20 years) which i started to look at which I think i said a few times in the last few days, but it is said so quick and then presented with other BS that the human brain does not catch up on it.

Wolf I definitely agree with you that it is maddening and frustrating that we have to deal with this but the worst thing we could do is organize a march/demonstration and try to occupy the Parliament Buildings with 40 people. We have the power you and I are using it right now.

I say the more they talk about e-cigs and keep getting it wrong the more we march with the electrons. The only thing I care about is "I don't care if the press is good or bad just make sure they spell my name right". In other words the more they talk about vaping the more we will respond, people will want to know, especially the smokers. And people get very mistrustful of the CLA's of the world who keep saying that vaping is dangerous but can't point to a body count.

Ahh Confusion, it is a grand thing is it not? Apologies, i was up all night working on a new book, and so i was stuck in that realm, but let me clarify things. When i said:

Do we have to march out in droves to the parliament buildings? Do we need a occupy the park movement? Do we need to ride the tails of idle no more? Do we need to tell every evil doer the stories of your past smoking lives? The answer is no. What do we need? Letters to the editor, ECTA getting radio spots out there, news paper ad's, even some weird duck wearing a sandwich sign walking the streets, saying a e-cigarette is not a cession device, but a alternative too.....

I meant this more in a theoretical rebuttal/debate format, not as something that i was endorsing. Hope this clarifies things, as yes i know we are using what capabilities and capacities we have right here now, and as such i am thinking about reopening the vape magazine 510 but under a different name -- a form of re branding if you will, as i closed the doors the last time around to someone jumping the gun and assuming some details (good riddance!!)

In these god given rays of sun of a new day i am waiting for the mail person to show up with my vape mail.....these bridgeless 510 cisco atomizers better be worth it :D
