Anyone come up with a lanyard type thing yet?

Just to throw out an idea but if you have to use crutches have you thought of maybe getting something that would strap onto one of the crutches. I think that would be pretty easy to do.

I actually have thought of that. One time, at one of my ortho appts there was a teenager there that was on crutches and it looked like she had been on them awhile. She had taken colored string of some kind and had covered her crutches with the brightly different colored strings. They were some great looking crutches, really showed her spirit.

I have a couple of handlebar grips that I might have to get out and see if I can get creative.

Just outside my comfort zone.
I would love to have a lanyard or something similiar to carry my Chuck in. I have to use crutches to walk and sometimes my Chuck just doesn't want to cooperate with me.
Hi Jules, I am using a lanyard from a Pentagon Flash Light. I am at work today but will try to post some pictures tonight. Hangs around my neck and I just let it rest in my shirt pocket.

Something like this lanyard and pouch would be really easy to make as a temporary thing until something better was found.

Use a sturdy fabric like canvas.
Make a tube that's a little longer than your chuck with the longest atomizer you use.
Punch a hole at the top (with a grommet would be better)
Loop a lanyard or chain through it.

Cool design!
It gives me an idea...

I make custom chainmail jewelry in a variety of metals. I can make a chain sturdy enough to hold any mod's weight comfortably, but the holder is what was frustrating me. I don't have the extra time right now to learn leatherwork, and a chainmail mesh pouch could hurt a mod's finish.

Sounds like your holster idea is a great one, Drozd, and you have the skills already to realize it.

...So Jules, given that you'll have a good holster for the Chuck, would you like to be my beta-tester for a handmade chain lanyard to hang a heavy mod+holster? I just think it would be fun to try this, and I'd like to help you find a good set-up for your needs.
(The only "price" would be your feedback...and a pic of the assembly. :))

(If you have metal allergies, niobium would work better and is a stronger metal -- I'm just out of stock in it right now but I'm going to order more, it'd just be a month's wait.)

That means the chain would be ~5-10mm wide depending on the weave, so the holster would have to have a loop for a chain that wide.

PM me if you're interested and have specs in mind, Jules!
the loop I was going to put on the top was going to be at least 1" wide..that way it could be put on a lanyard but also it could be slipped onto a thinner belt...or nylon webbing or whatever...

Where do you get your rings?..make them yourself or get them from somewhere like the ringlord?

That would work pretty well even to carry a couple of 510's or 808's too. I'll have to check that out to maybe put on my messenger bag/purse.

The 1" loop would also work great with a silver and leather belt I have for when we are out with others that we ride with, (aka at the bar, lol)

I really appreciate all the ideas. I knew I could count on people here. I am especially thankful to MP and Drozd for being willing to make something special for me. I can't wait! I'll be sure to post pics and reviews on their hard and beautiful work that they have done! And I will continue to pay it forward whenever I can. We all have things that we can offer or do for fellow vapers. I am always happy to see it going on.

It's 1" to the bottom of the switch. The switch is round and the diameter is 6-7mm. That is the bottom of the switch, i guess you would call that the housing. The actual switch is about 2mm in diameter and sticks up approx. 3-4mm. If I knew where the keys to the hubby's toolbox was I could get his micrometer and be more precise with the measurements.

That's ok..I was just playing with a little layout work..and I figured since you said your button was in the back what I was gona do was punch a hole in the strap in the back for the button to go into....

So lets see if I can describe this so you can picture it.. solid round bottom with a 1" tall ring sewn to it...and a 1" wide strap that rins up the back.. a 1/2" ring about 3/4 of the way up it..and then a 1/2" ring at the top that snaps...and then a 1" wide loop at the top that sticks about an 1 1/2" above the top of the body.. so what you'd get is kinda a cage that you'd slip it past the middle ring and into the bottom one..button and housing would slip into a hole and then top ring would snap around the top..should keep it from turning in holster and from popping out..while still being minimal and showing off the chuck and the design on it..

That sounds perfect! I like the fact that the whole Chuck won't be covered. The whole idea behind a Chuck is to personalize it and show it off. Your idea will make it to where that can be maximized but still easy for me to carry. I just have to thank you again!

No problems...that's why I said to not worry about paying for it...I've got all sorts of leather scraps here that wouldnt get used for anything and really the material cost is so minimal it's rediculous..
And I thought you'd like the minimalist idea so you could still show it off..

Your ideas are perfect! I don't have a creative bone in my body, lol I can't even doodle, lol Between the holster and the chain the MP is going to make I don't know what will get more attention, it or bike, lol

I have Crochet one it hides my design but works well when I need it I am now getting to the point I am walking without a walker and I made one up real quick for the amount of time I have spent on my feet the last few weeks. I can show you a pic tomorrow don't have one right now to post.

I'd love to see that! Glad to hear you are getting off your walker. I envy you! I have family in Hunington, Barboursville, Rainelle, Meadow Bridge and Wayne, W VA. Beautiful state!

I have crocheted some strange things in the past

Oh hehe... crocheting.. yes. Yes! I knew that!!

I'm working on my wife to try and come up with a hemp lanyard. She used to make some really good stuff, its just a matter of getting her motivated.

I had this necklace she had made when we started dating, everytime we went somewhere she would find really cool glass beads, some of them were really neat.

I think by the time all was said and done there were a couple hundred dollars worth of beads on it. It was really cool, and completely over the top. It suffered an unfortunate injury and had to be rewoven...but the hemp stores around here have this really thin, really stiff hemp that just doesn't have the feel of my old one. Even after it gets broke in :(

Would be REALLY cool to have a lanyard/holder with the same beads on it.

I have seen similar designs that people use for albuterol inhalers, just need to find one as a template.

Sure I will post a picture tomorrow. It was really simple to make and I will post the pattern I used once I get it out of my head  I never use a pattern I just look at what I need and make it. I added pockets for cartos and atties. A pocket could also be added for a juice bottle. I thought it was better than keeping my Chuck in my bra.
