All right blazing new trails! Go for it, take plenty of pic and post you success. :toast:

Have you drilled SS before? Have you thought a cutting a channel with a dremel instead?

I cut a channel in my Cyclone. I drilled to convert my nimbus which I love on the reo just something with adjustable airflow is better to close off while the reo is in my pocket. I want a new dripper but one that isn't 22mm and hanging out over the milled catch cup.

Maybe I need to slow down and work on some clones before I start dropping that kind of money.

It has to be easier than modding my trident... I don't own an atomic yet (supposed to have one showing up next weekish) but from the looks of the atomic, channelling or drilling through the center should work just as well as a cyclone/igo-l/s/etc.

$120 is a little steep btw even with shipping. Every place I've seen that stocks them they run around $95

The Cyclone wasn't easy! I broke four bits and ended up using a dremel to cut a channel which I don't like as much as drilling through.

I channeled my igo-s, as well as the copper positive post on the bottom half of my trident... definitely not a fan of using the dremel for this. Mine only has 2 speeds: wreck it and maul it.

I personally wouldn't attempt to drill out the post on an atomic or even a cyclone w/o a press, but if you're using a variable speed drill and can go nice and slow (swapping out bits once you notice they've dulled/stopped cutting) it's doable.

Yeah, I dulled 6 bits on my Cyclone. It sucks that drill doc won't sharpen 1/16 bits. that's why I cut a channel in the Patriot's center pin, far easier and works just the same after it's all back together. I think the insulator around the center pin plays a big part in how good the channel works. The Patriot has a very solid, instead of soft, insulator.

Yeah that would make it harder my Dremel has a variable speed control on it
