I recently ordered some juice from a fairly well known and well liked vendor. They then sent me an email invite to review my purchase. Of the two reviews that I wrote neither were scathing and both were framed in the context of, I didn't care for it but you may love it. One review was 3 of 5 the other was 4 of 5. The vendor has added reviews to their site since I submitted mine but neither can be found.
I know its their site and they can do with it as they please but if you are going to have a review section on your site and invite customers to review products have the balls to post all comments.
Anyone else have a vendor do this?

Reviews are such a mine field. If a site invites reviews I feel that they should show them all. If I see no bad reviews that is a flag for me to take a closer look to see if there are no bad reviews because everything is fine or is the site just not publishing them. I would trust a product with some bad reviews more that one without any.

I want information about why the reviewer gave the review he did. A review that just says I loved it is a lot less useful than the one that says it worked fine but the door did not close perfectly. I can decide if the door not closing perfectly will bother me and if it will I would avoid the product.

One bad review I often see is the it came broken review. Any product is going to have some arrive broken. That does not make the product bad. If the vendor does not fix it that is something I would like to read and I would probably avoid the vendor. If the problem is quickly solved it reflects well on the vendor and if the product is fine then the product is good.

In your case the site asked you to review and you took the time to do it. They should publish. I would probably consider your review a good one. I really don't care if a random reviewer does not like a flavor. If I were to rate any tobacco juice on flavor it would get a 1 from me. If I found a bunch of reviews from you that matched my taste I would probably try another flavor from the vendor.

Why would you expect a retailer to advertise that their products suck and customers shouldn't buy them? On their own site for that matter? :D

I hear where you're coming from but this shouldn't surprise anyone.

Had one recently where some of my reviews didn't get posted for over a week. Then a couple showed up and others didn't. Quite a few from other customers showed up at the same time - guess the company was backlogged and slow getting things done. Resubmitted the ones that never showed and most of them eventually got posted. If you really want your reviews put up then try resubmitting them. If they still don't get posted, contact the company and ask them about it.

I'll give them some more time to go through the reviews and then contact them. I am would not really be surprised if they did this, just disappointed that a vendor with a good reputation would do this. With vendors coming out with more and new flavors faster than ever I find myself relying more and more on reviews. Or if I am having trouble deciding between two flavors I will use the review section to help guide me. Even if they don't post it I would be satisfied with an email stating they received my review and are taking my comment into consideration.

Disappointing but not surprising.

There are only a few vendors that I know of that post all reviews - from the 1 star this sucks, to the gushing 5 star best ever and everything in between. I'll cite Mount Baker Vapor as one that I know of. Some of the reviews of their e-liquid on their own website are brutal.

I have much more respect for those vendors that publish all reviews and I avoid those that don't.

That said, if someone is interested in buying a product, it would probably be in their best interests to look at multiple sources for reviews and not just the vendor website.

i do know some vendors are willing to allow negative reviews on their sites as long as they are constructive.

plenty of people will write reviews that are not just negative, but have profanity, or advertise another vendor's product, or make personal attacks on the company...of course those reviews wont be published. but that user will then hop on the nearest forum and spout how they are being censored and victimized and probed by aliens and didnt get enough love from their parents and generally mistreated altogether by society.

in general though, if you want to see more rounded reviews, it's best to try and find third party sites where they dont have their own interests in the product to protect.

Mount Baker Vapor keeps the reviews real....But sometimes it seems to take a while for a review to show up online..good or bad..I shop Mount Baker Vapor WhenEver I can because I trust them, They're straight up, And because they have done a lot for the vape community (like paying for ALL the printing costs for the Free to Vape - Vapers Helping Vapers Campaign, over 40,000 printed and delivered to the FDA) MBV Rocks- Dave
