I have now 8 batteries that are essentially worthless to me because the draw is like sucking air. Four are from Puresmoker, three from V4L, and the latest from NHaler. The wierd thing is, the 4 from Puresmoker started off fine, but now, virtually nothing except air. The ones from V4L and NHaler were like sucking wind right from the start.

I have tried a variety of different cartomizers from different manufacturers to no avail. The same cartomizers work just fine on two other batteries I have.

The batteries are otherwise fine. I can put an atomizer on them and they work so I know they are charged and firing properly. I tried adjusting the post and cleaning them but they are no better.

I personally switched to Bloog and have not had any issues with them, but my wife prefers the manual batts so therein lies my problem. I hate to get rid of her, so I was hoping for any suggestions, remedies, or advice to tighten up the draw.

I saw this over on the VRL forum and you might try it. I know you said you adjusted the battery post, but I had done that to no avail also and then tried adjusting the carto itself. It works with the cartos that have a slot in the contact, like V4L or LiteCig ones. Take a flathead screwdriver and put it the slot. Turn the contact counter-clockwise about a half turn, then reattach carto to battery and try the draw..... repeat until you get the draw you like. This really worked for me. In fact, the first try I over-tightened and had to back it off a little. Much less airy!

If you've tried it already, sorry to be redundant. Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestions. I thought I would pass on what helped me the most. I took one of the little condoms the cartomizer comes in and cut off part the top. The length of which is approx. 1/2 inch. Then I slid it down to where the cartomizer meets the battery, completely covering the union of the two. For all but a couple of my batteries, it worked well enough to be able to utilize them again and provide a satisfying vape.

If you know of someone who complains about a battery or cartomizer being "too airy", tell them to give it a try. It's an easy and inexpensive (possible) solution.

I gave that a try, more then a couple of times (at least on my auto batteries) and found trying to take a drag was way to hard. I ended up poking a couple of holes with a sewing needle along the line of the cut condom where the air holes normally are and it was much better.

It needs some air to mix in there but significantly less then what was being provided before.

Have to put in my 2 cents. My one V4L XL manual batt button just quit working, it couldnt get the button down. I contacted V4L and they sent me a new batt and a shipping label to send the old one back. Great on customer service. IMHO. But I have been using the 78mm Bloog batts and have been liking them much more. The drawl on them is much more like a regular analog to me. I also ordered 2 Bloog XLs, they should be here tomorrow. I did notice that the V4L Cool Carts dont work all that well with the Bloogs, but I dont understand why. The wow and other brands seem to work just fine.

Hard draw over time might be caused by the tiny vent holes clogging around the perimeter of the battery connection. Should be between 2 and 4, depending on the battery mfg'r. Take a straight pin and clean them out, but first clean the gunk out of the inside rim of the battery.
I see this a lot with customers I deal with, who think their battery is shot and draws hard. Clean em every week or two.
