first off, i have a provari mini v2.5, and a igo-l rebuildable atomizer with a cotton wick

that said, i'm finding my favorite way to vape is to build a 2.4ish ohm coil, and set it to about 4.2ish volts and then hold down the button for like 5 seconds then pull. (not lung style).
The vapor is cool enough not to burn my throat or my wick, and the flavor is very rich, along with lots of vapor.

anyone else vape like this?

Let me get this straight... you're saying your vapestyle is to trigger the atomizer for 5 seconds THEN toot the thing? If so, maybe you've developed this style to suit a cooler vape inhale and not because of any igo driven need to impress us folks at the forum. Sometimes a suck is just a suck. Forgive me.

so you prime it for 5 seconds before you inhale, do you continue to push down while you take a pull or do you let off when you are inhaling?

also, i'm sure br777 is just sharing his or her style of vaping... i certainly wouldn't say they trying to "impress" anybody Michael

I'm just wondering if the 5 seconds are needed. That coil should heat pretty rapidly with your set up and unless you're drawing air across the coil then it won't produce much vapor.
So the "primer" is only getting you coil full temp before drawing on it.

If the vapor is too hot, just hold it in you mouth longer, or you could always go and get yourself a cold pop.

Yeah 5 seconds sounds way too long, especially with a cotton wick. Seams like that long with out some air would start burning. Have you tried firing it with no wick in it to see how fast your coil is heating? Not saying there is anything wrong with the way your doing it, just you might be needlessly draining your batts and juice quicker then needed. I use almost the same set up, except with a Cyclone instead of the IGO and that shouldn't make much of a difference. Mine would probably burst into flames if i just fired it for 5 seconds before I hit it. What gauge wire are you using?

Personally I fire the button a split second before pulling in vapor. I've had too many dry hits during my time vaping to even attempt firing the IGO for 5 seconds before taking a draw.

Different strokes for different folks though!

Especially with a cotton wick in a dripper. A burnt cotton hit is enough to make you wish you could lick your own .... to get the flavor out of your mouth.

Actually, I was the one trying to impress you with my "witty banter". Projection on my part=fail. To the OP, my sincerest apologies attempting levity regarding the way you suck! :)
From now ons, if I have nothing nice to say I won't say anything at all. Like you, I prefer cooler vapor over warm. Thats why I likewise prefer the atomizer at the bottom of a clearo or tank as opposed to nearer the mouth designed jobbys. I think a 10 INCHER might behoove us both. The air would be cooler coming out by the time it gets to the end.

i find that vaping this way prevents burnt wick. When i use higher voltages i do get a burnt wick taste. Its not bad, but its bad enough.
my coils head up quickly and evenly, i dont have hot spots, and the coil doesnt get very hot either. I like warm vapor but it just makes me cough.

yeah it is basically a long primer, but it seems that overall it doesnt get as hot, which i think is why it works better for me than using a higher voltage with less primer time...

thanks for the feedback. I'm still learning so any feedback or suggestions are welcome.
