Anyone else prefer Aspire ET-S or Vivi Nova-S BVC vs Nautilus BVC?

I recently got the ViVi Nova-s and mini Vivi Nova -s with BVC coils. Bought the 3.5 ml version for my wife and mini vivi for myself as a backup to my Nautilus Mini.

I havent been using the Nautilus Mini as much since. What I like about the Vivi Nova -s bvc is that the flavors are slightly more muted and its functioning slightly smoother(both 1.8 coils, at 12 watts, same ejuice comparison) . Not sure bc its newer. The eliquids also have been lasting longer.

On top of this the replacement coils for the non bvc is 4-10 dollars cheaper. It seems like its hitting the sweet spot for me. I always felt i needed more flavor etc but i guess not.

Anyone else have both? Thoughts

Ok, been using the Vivi Nova most of the day. At first I was really disappointed because it tasted like burnt rubber, but then it dawned on me that the description said they came with BDC coils. I had that same burnt rubber taste when I first tried the ET-S tanks back before the BVC's came out, it turned me off of Aspire products for a long time. Anyway, took the nasty BDC out, popped in a fresh BVC, and after letting it prime it vapes great. Good flavor, good throat hit. The draw is a lot tighter than the mini nautilus, but that was expected with no air flow control.

All in all they're a good inexpensive alternative when not using the mini naut.

I was really disappointed in the Aspire ET-S when I first got them, they had the BDC coils and the draw was really tight. I even tried drilling extra holes in them but it didn't help. Then I got the BVC coils for them and it was a HUGE difference. I actually had to plug the extra holes and the draw is still very smooth and good flavour as well. I have the BVC in my Nautilus Mini as well and love it!

The BDC's made me hate my ET-s's so much that I got rid of them. For me it wasn't the draw, it was just a horrible burnt rubber taste. I wish I had kept them now because the BVC coils make all the difference. I've been using the Vivi Nova's now for a couple days and they get better every day. They were a little tight to draw from at first but that seemed to ease up the more I use them.

They were a game changer for my et-s also. Unfortunately I don't use them anymore as I prefer my mini. I'm going to take a spinner with a et-s bvc combo to my brother Thursday the little tank had a pretty good draw after I drilled the air holes out a size larger. He's lucky because he won't have to experience the crappy bdc's.

I'm looking forward to these opinions as I'm debating this very question right now before purchasing my new tank.
It will depend on a few things (outside of cost - non nautilus bvc = winner)

1. At what watt do you like to vape on?
2. Do you like bold flavors? Like your tasting the dessert. For some it can be too sweet.
3. Do you want to conserve the use of your eliquid?

If you like to vape on 11 or 12 w plus, dont get the ET-S or Vivi nova bvc. You may get tiny spit of eliquid in your mouth. Dry hits. 9-10ish watt is a good sweetspot (very good vapor production but mini nautilus = excellent vapor production)

The nautilis mini will bring out the flavors for the better or worse imo. I felt sick after vaping on some eliquids on the mini but ok using the vivi. Yet for some eliquids the nautilus mini brought out great flavors (subtle flavors) while the vivi couldnt. But some ppl are ok with this. Sort of neutral but with hints of flavors. Better than bdc coils but not as bold as the nautilus

The nautilus mini is a thirsty son of a gun. Especially if you use the biggest airhole. I have to use the biggest bc i find the smaller ones produce too much flavor for my liking. The vivi is like the toyota car version. A vivi nova 2ml tank (full) vaping at the same rate vs nautilus mini lasts me close to 2 times longer

I noticed this too. A full mini nautilus only lasts me a few hours, but a full Vivi lasts me nearly all day.

One thing to also remember is , when adding new eliquid in both the nautilis mini or non nautilus bvc tanks is to let it sit in the tank for 5-10 min before vaping. Even if you are refilling the tank with the same eliquid, its better to wait i find.

Otherwise there could be some gurggling, spits of liquid into the mouth. Nautilus mini is not as bad as the non nautilus clearomizers

I found that my BDC coils were getting a nasty flavor and harsh hits after only a couple days, maybe two or three fills of my Vivi Nova S. Really disappointing. Here's hoping the BVC coils really make a difference. I don't want to have to cave and get a different clearomizer. I like the simple design of the Vivi Nova. Stuff like the Nautilus are too much for me. I liked my Immortalizer, especially using ceramic wick and ribbon coil, but I seem to have misplaced it in the move.

I'm glad somebody is still talking about these little wonders. I think that even with all the advances that have been made (and I've tried a few. I have the Atlantis and the Kanger Subtanks Mini and Nano.) in the last year, the ET-S is still the best value available without question. I use them all the time. I have 2 each of the 7 colors (got most of them on sale for under $5 each at World of Vape). It makes it easy to keep different flavors separated and organized.

The Aspire ET-S with a 1.6 ohm BVC is still my go-to general purpose tank with a couple caveats. I found that they need the air holes drilled out to accommodate my style of hitting. If you apply too much suction, the coils will flood. You really can't drill the holes too big. Your maximum airflow will be limited by the coil's design. You can get a nice, but somewhat tight lung hit after drilling them out. I was a little concerned that the coils wouldn't stay saturated enough to avoid dry hits, but using 80vg/20pg I have no trouble whatsoever taking multiple lung hits in rapid succession. I also found they work best on a variable wattage device at 7 to 8 watts if you're not cloud chasing. The flavor is still very good.

You can sometimes accidentally burn the 1.6 ohm and even the 1.8 ohm BVC up quickly on a fully charged and unregulated 3.7 volt battery if you're not paying close attention.

The other thing to keep an eye on is the liquid level. When it drops below the halfway point in the window, it becomes more prone to flooding and some leakage between the coil and the power supply contact. This effect can be mitigated by creeping up the power/wattage at that point or simply changing out the tank with a fresh one (they're cheap enough to keep several around and not worry about breaking or losing them).

I pay less than $1.50 per authentic coil through FastTech...at least they seem to work as well as the authentic Aspire ones. I can't tell the difference.

I realize not everyone can or will want to drill out the air holes, but that has been the critical difference in making these little jewels shine for me.

Other than that, there's not a whole lot in it for the passionate vaping enthusiast/hobbyist. On the other hand, for someone looking for cheap, simple and reliable functionality with out all the hair splitting fiddly bits, the ET-S is the way to go IMHO.

Just sayin',
Nick

I used my Vivi Nova S for about a year with BDCs before trying the BVCs and while they are an improvement, I get much better results from the BVCs with my Cerotank (Aerotank that accepts BDCs and BVCs). The Vivi Nova was a solid design but I don't feel it has adequate airflow and I get a lot more gurgling and spitting with it. Cerotank + BVC wins hands down.

I have to ask you if any of you use these on a mechanical mod? The reason I ask is they seem to cause my mech mod batteries to "time out" I am using the fuse on the battery since I had one battery vent out using the aspire vivi nova. I really like the vivi nova, but hate having to fall back to my old ego batteries. Even they sometimes give me a time out and cause the battery to malfunction.

I have both the Aspire mini Nautilus and the Aspire Vivi Novas.....and I always go back to the Vivis....I do not think flavor/vaper can get any better. These tanks are inexpensive and work horses and the BVCs for them are inexpensive also. I would and have recommended them to anyone who vapes. And they are superb on the iStick minis. The combination cannot be beat.

:thumbs::thumbs: And they are pretty. Yes, I am a girly girl.

I however use the reg bvcs on a beyondvape silo lite (my favorite clearo to date after I opened up the airflow). For me the flavor on the reg bvcs is way better than the nautili(eses).
Do you use 1.6 or 1.8 Ohm BVC heads? How's does the Silo Lite on the eGo One battery compare to the BVC in the eGrip? (I assume you've tried them both!? :))
