Anyone have experience with "watering" down higher nic juice?

Recently I've been lowering my nicotine strength, so I have these leftover bottles of higher nic juices. My plan is to buy some vegetable glycerine to water down the higher stuff, then add some concentrated flavouring.

Now I'm starting to think it might be a lot cheaper to just buy the higher nic juice in the first place, and make multiple bottles out of the one.

So for example:
$18 for a 30ml of 24mg
$0.62 - $1.24 extra VG
$1 - $2? extra flavour concentrate

$19.62 - $21.24 for 60ml of 8mg

Ends up being much more economical, but I don't know what else is involved, like if the bottles would have to be steeped etc.

The problem is trying to get the flavor right. You water something down and it's just that -- watered down. The precise flavorings/% used by vendors are generally trade secrets.

A decent number of vendors sell low or 0 nic versions of their eliquids, so if they are flavors you like you might want to explore this approach. You can then mix your higher nic liquid with the lower/0 nic version in the same flavor without loss of flavor.

If you happen to like vaping a pure menthol, it is the one exception that I know of, since in that case you just need some menthol crystals or liquid menthol concentrate. Just about anything else is multiple flavors and %.

Like Markfm said, some vendors sell "doublers" which are just the flavoring without the nic. Also, the idea of mixing a 0 or low nic version with a higher nic version works too. Both approaches are used by many when stepping down, as it keeps the flavor while lowering the nic.

Personally I have 50mg nic and then mix it in with 18-24mg juice (I currently vape 24-28 depending). Since it doesn't take much to change the nic level to what I want, I don't lose much flavor (and I have "doublers" to use if needed).
