Same problem for us too mate. Everyone was either working or had made other plans. We were going to have everyone round at ours this year, but it all fell through. It would have been better for me to be the host, I could have had a drink then, instead of doing loads of driving.
We did have a small glass of wine though and raised it to my Dad. I used to go for a pint or two with my Dad when he was still alive - he used to get 5 free pints on Christmas day at his Social Club, so we'd share them between us while Mum did the cooking![]()
Yes happy days ian, it all comes back to you this time of year doesn`t it mate. I have so many happy memories of when mum was alive one being, my older brother filling a gas ciggy lighter in front of the plastic xmas tree. He kept filing and filling, then lit the lighter and the tree went whoosh, with him trying to blow it out

Luckily enough the tree just burned itself out, (good job it did) cos we couldn`t do nowt but laugh. anyway he stood there saying don`t tel mum, don`t tell mum, as if she wouldn`t have noticed. she was in the kitchen making the dinner, and guess who was the first to shout mum you better get in here
