I know that e-readers are a good idea and I probably will get one eventually. I guess I'm just old fashioned with books. I like the feel and weight of a book, turning a page, the way the edges discolour over time and the ridges on the cover sleeve. For me it's a sensory thing. Like I said I'm just old fashioned :D

Glad you haven't got any liquids on order Lisa. I'm hearing reports that some shipments are being delayed because of tighter security at airports - mainly the ones containing liquids or batteries.

Nothing wrong with books (everything right, in fact), and I agree with all your "sensory" comments. They are a bit bulky for the old hand-baggage these days, though. :)

I probably wouldnt have gone out and bought an e-reader, but the last time i got a new phone contract it came with a free kindle fire hd, which i have to say i now love. I split my book buying 50/50 now between the kindle and paper books, and the fire hd has the added bonus of quick internet access and great for mobile gaming.

Trouble... just read your bit about eliquids being delayed... typical, ive just done my first order with fast tech for 3X30ml :(

I'll have to see if I can get one as a freebie next time I upgrade my phone. Not due to upgrade for another 6 months though. Which provider are you with Codz ??

From what I've seen, all Asian aiports are now x-raying all parcels, they were supposed to be more vigilante from 2009, but they've only just started now. If a parcel has some juice, but mainly other items, it should be ok. But if it's all juice or batteries it may delay things.

I understand the preference for books as well =] My favorites are in both forms LOL Nothing beats a book while your soaking in a tub! :p

Yes, I've been watching the same reports with FT... I've got eGos coming in and hope they aren't held back - there is no juice, so I am hopeful.

Hopefully you will be ok Lisa. I've got a small order of just juice outstanding. But to be honest, it's for less than $13, so it's no biggie if it gets stopped at customs. I've still got tons of juice here to go through :D

I know what you mean about the size, every time I fly (which isn't very often), I always end up picking up a book or two. I think the Wife wants me to get a kindle so she can throw my books out - less time spent dusting

Got a feeling customs got their mitt's on my package.

It was 'Dispatched' on the 6th and the status is the same.

Was it sent by Singapore Post or just standard air mail ??

The orders I've had by Sing Post, always come through a lot quicker in my experience. Standard air mail seems to take twice as long.

Hope your order gets to you eventually

Throwing books out is a crime - giving them to someone else to read is the ultimate in wonderful human behaviour imho...

Been a while since an update.

So Terry, this one's for you mate :

Got another delivery in from vapology today. Some more of the cappuccino, 50ml this time - love this juice. Plus a couple of new concoctions - Chef's Pear & Blackberry Honey Drizzle and a Tailor made Strawberry Chocolate Caramel (heavy on the caramel). Time for a bit of steeping now, the wait is killing me :D

They do take a bit of tinkering mate. Of the 4 I've got had to fiddle with 2 of them, the other 2 worked out of the box after a good clean. I like a good gurgle though, lets me know I'm doing some heavy vaping ;)

yes i can put up with the gurgling Ian, it`s the leaking i can`t be doing with. got it going just fine now mate.

Carphone Warehouse and an EE contract - nothing too expensive either (£25 a month and a sony xperia something or other that i cant remember!). I think a few of the providers do deals that include them - my phone would have been about £180 to buy and the kindle was about £170 at the time so it seemed to be a pretty reasonable deal and the kindle has never had a problem with it in the 15 months or so that i have had it so far. I think Amazon say that the life expectancy is only about 5 years on them, but all your books are stored on a cloud for your account so you can access them on any other kindle thats in your name in the future.

Glad you got it sorted mate. What did you re-wick it with, silica ??

Are we talking about the X9? If not, I apologise. But if so - twist the head in tight (blow through if you have had previous "gurgle") - fill to the rim of the tube and no further - and just vape.

That's the whole point. Keep your Public Domain books on your pc (or just have a load of bookmarks where you can download them .from). That's a whole lot of books (going back to JRR and stuff you can even get Skeat's anglo-saxon reader on PD).

The books you buy from Amazon are kept in perpetuity. You can't lose them. Even if it's the Kindle Daily Deal at 99p (you have to sign up for the email) you can't lose it.

Let's say you've gone for a happy holiday in a wet place. Your Kindle gets really wet because you have put it into an aquarium and it dies.

All your books will hit your new Kindle when you get wi-fi.

And this is a forever promise. That's what makes it so great!

Get one.

Yep, Singapore Post.

Order placed 31/08, received 02/09, dispatch 06/09.

Looks like I'll be leaving a sign on my door to leave with a neighboor as I'm on holidays Sunday.

Nevermind, some sun should cheers me up. :)

That's strange mate. This is my second order now and no problems with stock.

I order with extra flavour shots on everything (either extra or double flavour), so that adds a few pence to each one.

But this order was :

Pear/blackberry/honey drizzle 10ml £5.30
Cappuccino 50ml £13.54
Strawberry/chocolate/caramel £5.35
Postage £3.40
Total = £27.59.

For 70ml it's still cheaper than my local B&M ;)

I'm with EE too. I normally just upgrade directly through them, cos I get a decent loyalty discount, but I'll have a shop around next time. I've been looking at few sites today that sell the kindle, either Amazon or Argos seem about the cheapest. It's good to know that the books will be safe though if anything goes wrong. Might drop a few hints to "she who must be obeyed". Got a birthday coming up in a couple of months, I reckon it would make a good prezzy ;)

Looks like I've been persuaded. Are you sure you lot don't work for an e-book company

Seriously though, I'd be gutted if I dropped a decent book in the pool, so it's good to known that I'd be covered with a kindle or something similar.

I'll have a proper troll through the internet on my next day off, see what I can come up with.
