Had a cracker last night thanks :)

So today had a play with the rope.

Decided to drill out the airholes in the RSSTs first. Left no1 standard, no2 drilled to 1.5mm and no3 to 2mm.

Managed to cut the rope really easily (used the 7x19). I used the cheapo set of wire cutters that I got in my FT toolkit. The piece did fly across the room when I cut it, but it was a nice clean cut. I think as long as the cutters are sharp and there's no big gap between the blades when their together it's easy enough. Here's the toolkit I got from FT - nothing special :

https://www.fasttech.com/p/1197800

Slipped on a piece of 3mm ekowool and did a 4 wrap coil with 30g kanthal. Usual torching etc. Came out at 1.2 ohms. Filled up with some Niocticket "grandmas cinnamon Danish" @ 18mg (didn't want to go with a 24mg juice first in case it was too much).

Stuck it all on the Paps Lux and fired it up.

WOW - you were right Terry. The flavour is off the scale. Better than cotton, really clean tasting. Not quite as much vapour as cotton, but I can live with that - cos this coil will probably last 10 times as long ;)

I'm really impressed so far. Thanks Terry for the rope, it's a superb vape

You are most welcome Ian, I am glad that you are pleased with it. And you are right about it being a clean vape mate, It has got to be the purest out there. What i found Ian is, when it breaks in after a few mil the vapour also starts to come through. and i found that if you hold your mod more horizontal, you will get more vapour.:D

Edit: i have got some of them small snips, I will just give it a try now

Well at the moment I've got the 1.5mm airhole on the RSST, but I'll leave it a while to break in first. Don't get me wrong it's producing loads of vapour but not as much as the cotton. I've found if I push the button a couple of seconds before I draw on it, the vapour is 99% as good as cotton, but the flavour is 150% as good as cotton (and you know how much I love cotton).

I think the coil takes longer to heat up - with it being a 3mm coil, so the pre-button push does help a lot

Thanks for the tips too mate - I'm really, really happy with the flavour. It's obviously very efficient at wicking cos my 18mg juice is definitely strong enough.

================

I've just put in another small juice order here :

SteamGunk Premium E Liquids For Electronic Cigarettes

They get some really excellent reviews for their gourmet juices. So I've got plenty of new juices on the way now, better get the aga set up with some rope too ;)

Forgot to mention - I've ordered 20mg juice from steamgunk. I can use 18mg in my more efficient attys, but I still need 24mg sometimes. Hopefully, the 20mg juice will be a nice medium strength for me. I didn't plan on cutting down on my nic, but it will save a bit of money with my DIY stuff :)

I tried the snips i have got and they are rubbish, but i am going into town tomorrow so i will pick some up. the problem with the kraken is you have to have the wick dead level or even a little bit below the positive post, cos when you put the sleeve on the pos post goes right up to the drip tip hole; so you can`t have anything longer.

Anyways, i tried with a length of rope which i cut earlier, Too long. i had it firing up great until i went to put the sleeve on, then it went downhill from there:p So for now i have just done a 5 wrap coil with cotton, and like yourself Ian 24 mg is just way way too harsh. but as most of the reviews show this kraken is performing outstandingly.

can`t wait to get some snips tomorrow, and get her set up with some rope:)

I have got that link bookmarked Ian, I would love to try some of them flavours mainly the citrus ones. As soon as my stocks start to get low again, it`s a definite. Have they got good reviews mate ??

I've probably gone and blunted my snips with cutting the rope, but not too worried, I've got plenty of other stuff I can use instead :)

I've gone through over half a tank in the RSST, still great flavour mate. Just got to decide what flavour to use next, the cinnamon Danish is really nice but I couldn't vape it constantly, otherwise I'd have had to fill up the RSST again before now ;) Been swapping between cinnamon Danish, GVC, blueberry, gravity, blackcurrant and fizzy trifle today.

Yep they get good reviews mate. When I was doing my research the last few days, they always got the thumbs up.

I've only ordered 4 to try out first, all in 20mg :

Lemon Meringue Pie, Sherbet Lemons, Strawberry Cream Tart and Twilight E-Liquid

Came to just over £18 including postage, so not too bad really. I would have ordered other juices but they had liquorice or menthol in them, so not really for me.

Just make sure you get some where the cutting blades meet when you cut. If you get ones where the blades overlap (like with scissors), their more likely to chew the wire and give a frayed cut. Maybe take some wire with you to try the snips out ;)

It's a great wicking system, I know now what you mean mate.

I'm off to bed now anyway Terry, back in work tomorrow, worst luck :(

See you tomorrow.

Well for 99 pence i can`t complain, the snips are brilliant. A heads up for you ian when yours blunt:) Anyhoo, i just installed the rope with a 3 mm sleeve and it is a beast. I did a 3 wrap of 30 awg kanthal and she is reading .9 ohms. I know which atty to head for when i want a nice throat hit LOL, It hits hard but not so it is uncomfortable, if you know what i mean.

I couldn`t vape it first thing, but i am puffing away on it quite happily now. Well done again f/t i love the airflow controll on the kraken as well, It is just a case of twisting the topcap till you get to your spot "fantastic":headbang:

Pushing the boat out there mate - 99p

You know, I'm wondering if I could get a 2mm eko sleeve on it instead, might try that next time. Then I can get a 4 wrap lowish ohm coil that heats up a bit quicker - what do you reckon ??

Mine is still going strong in the RSST, not tried the bigger airhole yet - 1.5mm seems to be great on the RSST.

Thanks for the heads up about Wilco's mate :D

==================

Got some vape-mail today. The Fogger from Burnie arrived today

Plus I'm hoping I might have another 2 orders in tomorrow, fingers crossed.

LOL i know mate, last of the big spenders me. Have you got any thinner wire mate, which will heat up quicker ?? other than that you could try the 2 mm eko, but i am guessing it would be a bit of a struggle. What are the other orders mate, liquid ?

I think I could probably squeeze some 2mm eko on it, the 3mm went on really easily for me - I'll give it a try on sunday probably. the eko does give a little - so we'll see what happens.

I've been checking the tracking for my orders - looks like the order from Desire ecig has landed in the UK already  That's bloody quick for HK Post - see how their version of the Kayfun compares to FT's offering. Plus one of the US juice orders is in the country too and the steamgunk order was posted today. So I might have 3 lots of vapemail tomorrow, or even 4 - the Russians from Viper vape left the US on the 31st too.

I'm hoping for an extra Christmas day tomorrow ;)

Way to go mate, are the russians just another variation of the kayfun ? you will have to let us know the difference if any, in performance.

The Russian started off as a clone of the Kayfun Lite, but they made it better than the Kayfun Lite by adding airflow control. It ended up getting better reviews than the KFL, so it's only a little bit cheaper than the KFL. You can't really call it a clone though, cos it looks different to the Kayfun. I've heard that there were 2 guys that originally started producing Kayfuns, but they ended up falling out. One of them carried on making the Kayfuns the other one started making the Russians :)

Don't order anything that includes a battery. I ordered 1 item with a battery that was held in Hong Kong for a month. I ordered another that I haven't received after 2 months. Everything else ships fairly quickly.

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Thanks for that. So their still having problems with battery shipments then ??

It's a shame cos I could do with some more batteries from FT - their a lot cheaper than here in the UK :(
