Everyone has gone multi-quote mad on here, poor terry :D

Which is exactly what happened with me when they first appeared on the market, I got the rechargeable ones with prefilled cartos, don't think you could refill them back then, absolute rubbish, didn't do anything for me, and I went back to smoking, but then in January I tried again with an eGo and by the end of February was ... free, and still am :) just wish I could get Granny (my SO) to quit as well.

Yep, rubbish! I dallied with disposables on and off for about 12 months before finally getting a 10 motives rechargeable set (which was a little better than disposables but not much).

Trish - i read that you got the 10 motives vanilla cartos too and eventually had problems with them. The one thing i will say in favour of 10 motives is that i absolutely loved their vanilla cartos - i tried to find out where they got their juice from to no avail. To this day i have not been able to find another vanilla as good as that. GVC is great, but its not a straight up vanilla and in some ways that 10 motives vanilla flavour remains my favourite eliquid, although i am sure if i had it as an adv now i would soon realise that its not a favourite any more!

Those were the days my friend.....
That was a great series - had some good moral values for the youngsters too.

She's an eSmart girl, I think it would be too much for her
I do still have a few eSmart batteries - two reasons: I already had around 20 of the clearomisers for them, and they're nice to just try a little of something. Fairly neat to take out too.
My other ones are 3xMVP's, Evod 1100, eGo Twist 1100, Vision Spinner ll 1600, and a few Kanger 650, 900, 1000. Those are the ones I use most of the time.

I think most of us had a similar experience, I took a bit longer but only because I had just got back from Belgium and had stocked up on ciggies, 1st day on an eGo, I was down from 25 to 13 a day.next day only 7, 3rd day only 3, thought "how am I going to get rid of these 440 cigs", ended up giving the missus 400, and smoked 20 of the 40 in the next 10 days, gave up and still have 20 unopened in a paper drawer next to me
I still have both packs (normal & menthol) with their lighters within a foot of my hands right now! Plus, there's 200 of them in the drawer! Suppose I'd better dispose of them. My willpower was so bad that if I'd decided to wait until I'd smoked what I had, I may never have actually done it.

Ah, it was the mention of Covent Garden that made me think that, and Camberwell Arts College (near me) is world famous.
Yes ...favourite haunt of mine :) Camberwell is an excellent college ..I'd never had been the painter I am though if I'd gone there - a bit more progressive/contemporary rather than traditional.

A good analogy would be the eSmarts etc that you use are a 1960s Mini, the Hana would be a Ferrari and you are a learner driver.
Do you build your own coils?
Well, if I still liked fast driving and had the cash, I'd probably have one of each! As it is, we have a Honda CRV and a Toyota Aygo Blue  Both have their uses!
No, I don't build my own coils ...I use the protank and unitank a lot right now and just buy coils for them. Been getting 5 for £5 so stocked up on them.

If you really want to get into something a bit bigger/more powerful than what you normally use, then I would suggest starting with an Itaste VTR, Vamo v5 or a Sigelei Tmax, but you will still need a charger for the batteries as they also take the 18650s (they look like extra large rechargeable AAs 18mm diameter and 65mm tall), possibly a multimeter if you don't have one to check the voltages of the batteries and resistance of the coils.
I didn't realise I'd need to do that sort of checking? Thought I could just do as I did with the MVP: find where I like it most of the time and just get on with it.
That one has the place on its side to plug in a USB charger so I thought I'd just need to make sure I had the right one.

Yes, I know - but he does try :)
It eliminates the need to remind someone what you're answering or commenting on :D

I actually have an unused 10 motives rechargeable kit - only a basic one though. I went on from the disposables to V2 and GreenSmoke (I did also try SmartCigs and Jac but they weren't as good) - It was either the V2 or GreenSmoke that had my favourite Vanilla ..coffee too. Whichever one it was, that vanilla was extremely nice. V2 also had a Gold tobacco one that I liked too. I know when I had to move on to VG, I did try to find out what was used in the vanilla cartridges too! Who knows - perhaps we would find them not so good now! 10 Motives do sell liquid now though: E Cig E-Liquids - Vanilla Sundae E-Liquids Cigarette Cirro You could ask them if it's the same vanilla that's in their cartridges.

I've got a Nucig basic starter set with 5 assorted VG cartridges (easy to pop in my pocket or even a coin purse). Be interesting to see what their vanilla is like. By the way, for people using VG, they have a range of VG liquids too.

In a way, yes you can, but because the batteries are more powerful, you have to take a lot more care with them, and it is always best to check the voltage when you take them off the charger to make sure they have charged properly and again when you put them on the charger to make sure they are not too low, with the kit that you have at the moment you are probably vaping at about 6-8w depending on the atty and battery, have you tried upping the wattage on your MVP to above 10w - what happens, you probably get a very warm vape, does the flavour change for worse, if the answer is yes then getting a DNA30 would be a waste of money, I'd already ordered the DNA20 and am now wondering why I did, I may cancel it if it goes to restocking.

Kanger's "Mini" Aerotank, Protanks and Unitanks have the eGo connector, that's where the confusion arises.

Yep, that's where I got confused but, in my defence, I could clearly see that the DNA30 had a 510 connector and assumed Tricia had Ego toppers :)

I'm seriously considering a DNA30 myself now, MUST STOP BUYING NEW KIT!!!!

Well, I don't particularly want anything that needs much attention - that was my biggest gripe when having to change from using pre-filled cartridges! Everything about it became more complex...interesting, particularly where flavours are concerned, but still more complicated.
I like using the MVP's at 8w for my most used liquids, but not everything is good at that wattage: GVC didn't taste nearly as nice when moved off an eGo Twist to the MVP. I haven't tried using it any higher.
One reason I do go for something more powerful is that I tend to assume everything works better with less effort, but perhaps that's not so?
Some flavours work perfectly well with Evod, eGo, Spinner, but some seem like hard work even when the coil is new/working well.

Now the youngsters are really gonna wonder what we are talking about
It was so familiar to me, I recognised what it was right away so never even thought to expand on it

I think the beautiful colours and power were giving me an attack of the magpies ......perhaps I don't really need one after all - I do rather like my MVP's! :2cool:

more power can kill your coils and use up the battery quicker, most people vape at between 6-8w, it's mainly sub-ohmers and cloud chasers that want to go higher.
I've had that problem with a couple of juices, not tasting nice in a certain atty, the best to do in that situation is make a note about it so that you don't do it again.

I was actually only going to write "Those were the days" when the song just entered my head so i carried on with "my friends"

Common sense prevails, I just wish my shinyitus would ease up on Mech Mods, every time I see a new one, I want it, my 2nd hand Roller arrived yesterday and the GUS, 69 & Poldiac clones all arrived today, and the Touchwood should get here by Saturday, and I've got another 3 clones on order from FT and a VMod from the States.

Ah ...so not my imagination that the coils don't last as long when used on the MVP ?
Sounds to me as though the MVP is a happy medium with minimum fuss :) ...perhaps they'll make them with a more user friendly button ...and lovely colours soon!

I was actually only going to write "Those were the days" when the song just entered my head so i carried on with "my friends"
I always get a great 'flash back' to 1966 when I hear the opening lines of that: "Once upon a time there was a tavern...." I can well recall a summers evening sat in a little village pub with husband to be and that playing on the radio - can almost smell the place and see the little dust motes in the shafts of late sun passing across the mantelshelf over the fireplace :) Funny how little things stick and imprint a vivid visual on our minds 'image storage' system.
May otherwise never even think about that night unless I hear that song or the words!

As I've said before, buying cigarettes and disposable lighters was never like this!  I bought them, put them in the usual place, used them and though no more of it. :?:

Have you seen the new Energy Line ones (I have the wood effect one)

I sent an email to them about making the button a bit easier to use and about moving it to the side.

I don't really like those - sorry! :) I prefer plain colours ...but pretty ones!

I saw a Youtube review and his gripe was the button - he thought it a big design fault. I do agree. I've got used to it, but it's still not user friendly in any way: position not ideal and too much pressure needed.
Shame because apart from that, it's extremely good.

On the button thing - well, it's certainly not a light press required but a firm one. There's a kind of certainty that comes with a firm press. I know that I can lob it in my shirt pocket without going through the "three clicks" thing and it won't accidentally fire. I like that.

And when I do fire it, I use my thumb.

Yes, I suppose it all depends on how you use it - mine is always on my desk, so goes nowhere :)

I use my thumb too apart from if it feels tender and then I turn it around and use my finger.
Odd times, my thumb can feel a little uncomfortable, plus I've had arthritis in my thumb/wrist joints most of my adult life, so that's a nuisance too!

This week I finally received fast-techs aerotank clones, these are very well constructed and are an incredible deal. I hesitate to post because they are such a deal I am afraid they will sellll out. The wait was long but well worth it. I really like having a bunch of clearomizers loaded and ready to go with different juices. Their clone is called aT-Protank, avoid the ebay clone it is completely different and has bad threads.

There is a mod for the MVP button issue in the MVP thread. About 6-12 pages back from the end. As of yesterday :).

    Woohoo, new toys

Fasttech order arrived today as well as the spinner from eBay

    P1010442.jpg

Kayfun 3.1 is not as good as the Kayfun Lite but it still beats standard toppers

The Vamo doesn't like my home-built 1.1 ohm coils but works great with my other toppers, guess I'll have to use thinner wire or put more turns on in future.

Adding the kick to the Nemesis also didn't add much to my RBAs probably for the same reason as it does seem to improve the others.

The Spinner is very pretty and will probably replace my sick vv3 as my carry-around, the fact that it came with a mini-protank 2 for less than the cost of just a replacement vv3 is a bonus :)
