Nucleus style dripper
Been waiting for this for a while almost got the original a couple of times but just couldn't bring myself to pay the price.
Now for the long wait and postman stalking :)
This weekend is also a year since smoking and what a great journey it's been thanks to the info gained from everyone on the forums.

Those are two brands I haven't seen before so I'll take a look at them - have you tried either of them?

Hi Trish. I haven't actually tried Emporium Vapours but I believe they're pretty good. I've tried a few Waves of Vapour juices. Custard Cream, Battenburg cake, and apple pie and custard (100% VG). Good juices though personally I've not particularly enjoyed them for one reason or another. If you'e interested in trying the apple pie Trish, let me know as I've got about 5 or 6ml left of my 10ml bottle which I'll not vape anymore. You can have it for free :)

I've just noticed that Vapingking is now doing.. spotted dk and custard! They've obviously decided to copy chefs vapour. Seeing as how Vapingking make good juices, I'll be interested to know how it tastes and if it's much different from the original (CV).

Vaping King

I've definitely not tried any of those brands. Good to know of more that will do VG though!

I'm continually coming up against certain flavours that don't agree with me - just as with PG, I get quite alarming breathing problems. It seems to be mostly fruit flavours. I am trying to work out if it's certain brands of flavour or all of the same type.
Just this week, something has troubled my breathing, but this time I don't know what!
I seem to be OK with a few but I hardly dare try any of my others in case it gets worse! I'll have to though because I need to find out which I can and can't use!

I did get the Chefs Vapour Apple Pie, and at first really liked it, but I thought it had too much spice in it after a while ...haven't used any for weeks now.
If yours isn't overly spicy, then I would like to try it - very kind of you to offer! :) The more I try, the more likely I am to find more variety that I can use without problems.

Hmm, to me it's not spicy, Trish. I don't seem to get on with flavours in VG heavy juices. I can taste that this is apple pie but to my tastebuds I'm not getting the sweetness, at least, compared to when I vaped PG heavy apple pie. But you seem to get on better with VG juices and will maybe enjoy this more than me. It's 12mg nic, don't know if you vape that strength, higher or lower? Drop me a PM with your address if you're interested and I'll get it in the post to you tomorrow. :)

This is where I bought it JUDY'S APPLE PIE

Ah - didn't think about the nicotine! I only use 0.6mg now. No worries, and it was so nice of you to offer me it - I looked at that site and think there's a couple I'd like to try, so it's nice to find another one with VG options and also customised ones!
It's not a case of particularly liking VG liquid, more a necessity as too much PG causes me problems.

Good find and temporary solution, although I don't think I'll be using it, but might be useful for you, those sticky feet come in to use for lots of things, I use one to stop the fridge door banging against the worktop in my tiny kitchen
Yes, I've got some of those floating around in a drawer somewhere....not sure I want one stuck on my MVP's though.

Well I'm sorry I've not been around much the last couple of days. Been busy at work, plus helping my Step-daughter move house (again), catching up on TV and playing with my vape toys

On the vaping side, I've got a new wonder wick, it's a type of Rayon. I ordered it through Amazon. Set up 2 Kayfuns today with it and I'm really, really impressed. It's the closest vape to a dripper I've ever had. Flavour is outstanding, vapour production is off the scale and it's really easy to work with. Only downside, if you like a quiet vape, it's definitely not for you - it bubbles like a fresh cotton wick constantly  If its this good still, after a few days vaping, I'll be ditching the cotton for good, I'm that impressed with it.

Also I've been taking apart an old laptop. I'd heard on one of the flashlight forums, that laptop battery packs contain 18650 batteries, the type we use in our mods. The Wife has an old Toshiba laptop, so I started dismantling it. I'll use the LED's and a few other parts for when I come to make my own box mod. Surprisingly though, when I took the battery pack apart, it had 6 Sony 18650's in it. I'm doing some tests on them now and carefully charging them to see if I can use them in a mod, but so far it's looking good. Six top end Sony batteries for free - that is a bonus. I've already checked their output 10A, so their comparable with my Panny batteries. Just need to make sure all the other specs are OK once I've charged them.

I've also done some more modding on some toppers, bigger airholes and opening up juice channels. So I have been busy while I've been absent

Hi, you're back! :)
You have been busy!
I decided not to get a DNA30 because I don't want to mess around with voltage and stuff ..the MVP will do OK  I'd like to see them in nice colours though.
I just found that my MVP's don't like the iClear 30S! It gurgles & leaks on them ..then it behaves ...then it leaks again - and so on. Plus, even after 24 hours, the Mint Chocolate Vapetto didn't taste the same ..had a sort of dirty taste! ...and if I thought the Unitank mini used a lot of liquid, this 30S one ploughs through it!
Seems to work better on a 650mAh Evod battery! ...looks pretty silly though :) I'll try it on the Spinner ll later because it's a little bit chunkier.

If you're happy with the MVP's probably best to stick with them for a while :D The DNA30, would be a bit different. Having to charge up batteries etc can be a pain sometimes. You'd have to get 18650 batteries and a decent charger if you bought one.

Why not just get a carbon fibre wrap to jazz up your MVPs if you want a fancy colour :)

I found the same leaking problem with the iClear30 I've got. I'm used to using loads of juice though

I think the FT ones do come with batteries, but they would need more I suppose.

Wraps make me think of stuff like Fablon :D It always starts to peel off eventually! I'll stay with the black and metallic silver & blue ones for now.

Those 30S's are a bit hit n miss. The one that's currently perched on an Evod is not leaking ...yet. But it did leak on and off with the MVP. I'll use the ones I have and the spare coils as long as they don't play up too much, and then get no more.

I have a theory: I've been getting breathlessness and a bit wheezy for no apparent reason in the past couple of weeks. Seeing how much liquid the 30S can use up and thinking about the Unitank that also uses more than I've been used to ..is it the MVP that's causing tanks to use more liquid? ..and because I'm using more, I'm thinking that's what is causing the unexplained wheeziness!

I know I'm using flavours that I'm fine with as far as bad reactions are concerned, but using more liquid, and VG is thicker, it could be feasible that this is what is causing it. Does that make sense?
Perhaps I need to inhale less or more lightly.

The only problem would be if they do come with batteries, FT can't ship anything with separate batteries at the moment :(

Fablon, I remember that  The carbon fibre wrap is really strong and very sticky. You can buy the sheets from any good motor store and cut it to shape yourself, or Jwraps in the USA do custom designed wraps for certain mods - I got 1 for the Vamo and 1 for the Vmod.

The MVP will be vapourizing the juice more efficiently than your smaller batteries, so it will use more juice, cos it's working better. With a basic small battery as the charge level of the battery goes down it delivers less power to the atty. But with the MVP it's regulated, so you get constant power to the atty, even when it's getting low on battery charge - hope that makes sense.

If you're using more juice, then you're probably right about having more of a reaction. It could still be more to do with the flavouring than VG though. Guess the only way to find out is, vape an unflavoured mix for a while and see what happens.

There is a statement on the page:
•Because this product contains batteries, it can only be shipped via select shipping methods. These shipping methods are displayed when you check out the order.
Still, even if there's a UK shipping method, it doesn't matter for me - I don't think I'll get one

Fablon was awful stuff! I'd see it in peoples kitchens and there was always a curled up sticky corner or a peeled off bit! I once tried to cover a science school book with some and made a right mess of it! ...all a bit Blue Peter, and definitely not my thing!
Nice to know that the wraps are decent stuff though!

Yes, it does - it sounds like the batteries on my cordless vacuum ..that has full power until it runs out of charge.
It doesn't use as much liquid when the coil is nearing the end of it's usefulness though.

I've been using the same stuff: Mint Choc Vapetto, RY/Confusion, Kent or 7 Leaves tobacco and Ultra Menthol mostly. All the ones that I know don't give me a problem, but you could be right: one or more may be doing so with the consumption of higher quantities! Could be that or the higher use of VG, or a bit of both I suppose. Whatever, I've been trying to inhale less deeply.
Another aspect will be that I'm using more nicotine and I'd rather not do that. I'm quite happy to have got down to 0.6mg so don't want to go back up as that will only increase my dependence on it. I'd love to be able to use zero, but that's not going to happen - at least not yet.

I've not had a problem with iClears leaking, you did check that the atomizer was securely screwed in, when new they are sometimes left a bit loose, I always take the whole thing apart and then put them back together again just to make sure everything is tightened up, I quite like both the 30 and 30s because they are top fillers meaning you don't have to take them off the Mod. Do you have any of these as they don't look too bad on them.

Not keen on wraps, ended up taking the one off my Billet Box, as all I could feel was the edges all the time (but that wasn't a full all round wrap)

Finally got my Touchwood:

Yes, everything was tight on the iClear - it just didn't like the MVP's! It's working fine on both 650 and 1100mAh batteries! I have three of these tanks, so I'll just use them and the 5 extra coils I got and perhaps not bother with them after that ...we'll see! :)
I used a threaded eSmart drip tip on it at one point and it was fine for 10 minutes then leaked even more! Apparently the metal tips aren't 510 according the FT's description.

Your new Touchwood ...are you pleased with it now you finally have it? :)

I tried doing a trial order with some batteries a few days ago Trisha, in the checkout page where you can choose a postage option, none of the options could be clicked on. I sent a message to FT, just to check and they told me they can't ship batteries to the UK at the moment. So it's a good job you're not buying one

The couple of wraps I've got actually give the mods a better grip too. The Vamo was always a bit slippery for me before, probably cos of the weight. I've spilled a bit of juice on the wrap, it's been in the sunlight, still stuck down nice and firm :D

I know it doesn't sound very appealing, vaping a juice without any flavour in it, but a lot of vapers on here use it all the time. It would be a good way to rule out a reaction to flavouring.

Must admit, I hardly lung inhale much these days. Just a shallow mouth inhale and out through the nose slowly - this way, I get to taste the juice better, still get my nic fix and don't cough my insides up

Cheers Bob, I was getting withdrawal symptoms

The rayon is the best wicking material I've tried so far, twice as good as cotton. Plus it can handle higher watts too, in fact sometimes it increases the flavour even more - my batteries will need charging more often though

I've got a multimeter that tests current drain mate. I do have to hook the battery up to a power draining source though, like a test bulb. Then I watch the current drain over a period of time and multiply it up to get the figure over an hour. I can also test for max discharge rate on my multimeter too, the batteries do get a bit warm when doing this though - so you've got to be careful and safe, as well as not fully drain them. Some of the flashlight forums have more info if you want to have a read, I haven't got any links though mate, but google will soon sort that out :D

The Touchwood looks lovely mate, especially with the wood tip. What sort of wood is it Bob ?? The top and bottom sections complement the wood really well, bet you're really chuffed with it :D

Hi All

I've been playing with my new toys :)

The Vamo now has 2x18350s in and drives the Aerotank beautifully at around 12W, on the back of that I built a new 1.8ohm coil for the Kayfun 3.1 and that is working great now as well. The KFL+ is on the MVP2 and is fine as long as I hold the button down for a few seconds before starting to suck on it, I haven't rebuilt the coil yet as it's still half full of Chefs RY :)

The spinner is working brilliantly as a carry around with mainly EVOD or iClear 16s, I do miss the display on the vv3 but what the hell.

I've also made my first custom juice, my base liquids arrived today and I've had some concentrates from Chefs for a couple of days. First attempt was just 10ml but I'm quite happy with the result. I don't yet have a nicotine tester although one is on order but the calculator I used lets me think its around 18mg. 50/50 PG/VG and 20 drops of Asian RY4, 10 of Caramel and 10 of Vanilla. I love the Chefs RY but still think it could be improved with a bit more tobacco :)

Considering it's my first attempt and I had very little idea what I was doing it worked out quite nicely, Chefs is still better of course, I was never going to hit it on the first try but I do prefer mine to some commercial RY4s I've tried and I did dig a couple of old bottles out for a direct comparison.

Carl

PS. Bob that Touchwood looks lovely, I want one :)

PPS. Ian, I'll look into that new wick

PPPS. Tricia, I have a wrap on my MVP, it's a 'back to the future' one. Flux capacitor, time circuits, plutonium warnings etc. I bought it on eBay from the states for a fiver and it shows no signs of curling or peeling away

Isn't it! Would have been disappointing if I'd decided to get one! :(

I guess sticky stuff is better than it used to be! ;)

True, no flavour in it does sound yuk!
It's helpful to hear about you not inhaling too much too! Thought I was the odd one out! :2cool: I'm the same mostly, but sometimes do find myself inhaling deeper, and that probably gives me problems easier!

I wondered if I dared try some Grandmas Cinnamon Danish ..but they only had 18mg - so I looked at the US site and found that in zero nicotine, they have max VG! Odd for just zero to be VG, but I thought I'd see how much the shipping is. I found another two and the three bottles were just over $12 shipping, so I ordered them!
I can then get the 6mg from Spiritus and diluted with a bottle of zero max VG, should hopefully result in something I can use with little problem!

Carl, just make sure you keep plenty of notes with the DIY mixing - all your successes and any juices that don't taste right. There's nothing worse than making a superb juice, then realising you can't repeat it :D If you let your juices steep for a few days after mixing, you'll find that they change too, most times they get better. Tobacco juices do need a longer steep too, so if you leave your RY4 mix for a week or two it should help a lot.

Which calculator are you using mate ??

The rayon is amazing Carl. With cotton you don't need a lot, with Rayon you have to literally stuff it into the coil, but it wicks like crazy.

Good luck with the DIY, it's great to be able to mix up your own custom blends.

When I vape I tend to take a long slow draw up to 10 seconds, inhale to the back of the throat only, release the fire button, exhale slowly through the nose and take another long slow draw at the same time, then out through the nose again. If I use a mech mod, I don't need to release the fire button. Sometimes, I'll even take a third draw. It's very rare, that the vapour gets past my throat.

The orders I've had from the US site were under valued a little, so no customs fees - bonus :D It's lovely stuff though the GCD, hope you'll like it. I've not had a bad Nicoticket juice so far, they really seem to know what their doing when it comes to mixing :D

Even though flavourless juice sounds boring, everyone that uses it says there's still a taste to it, probably from the nicotine. Some nicotine can add a slight peppery note to a mix. It's supposed to be good for clearing up vapers tongue too.

Nice that you're trying some new mixes! Hope they work out well.
The MVP's I have are really quite smart in their own right with the metallic or black finishes, but if they should start to look untidy at all, I'll get a wrap of some sort.
Ideally, I want Innokin to make some with red or blue metallic finish!

I don't think I get past around 5 seconds but do repeat that a few times at least. I'll concentrate more on not inhaling deeply! It should help a lot. Thanks ...I did think that but never had it confirmed!

Nice re the customs value! If I'd known I'd have added a fourth bottle - never mind, it's not too costly to get shipped. Definitely worth trying it! They have a rather interesting sounding new tobacco one: Wakonda! Coffee, tobacco, vanilla extract and custard! Not available as yet in zero MAXVG.
If I wanted to get the zero MAXVG from the US site and then add my own 0.6mg nicotine, how could I do that easily?

Spiritus told me today that they've asked about the zero etc., so hopefully they'll get some at some point. He said nothing has happened about it yet though.

I've just been using LT Peach Fresh, and noticed a pepperiness in my nose/throat! So far, I don't seem to have a problem with peach either! I'd tried the Silky Peach Fresh weeks ago and did get a reaction, so it could be that whatever the 'silky' part was, it may have been that causing the problem. I'll use more of this Peach Fresh and see how it goes. It's quite mildly flavoured.
