We quite enjoy our corner of ECF. We do tend to go off topic occasionally but the talk does get back on track from time to time

Hope you had a great 4th, even though we don't celebrate it this side of the pond

Throw your rayon and cotton balls on the burn pile. As someone that took nearly a month to get a good KFL build I can tell you that the cotton pads are the way to go, after weeks of trial and error the pads are like a god send. Amazon sells a generic for under $8 shipped and they are awesome.

I upgraded from the cotton pads to Rayon. Originally I was using a compressed cotton pad for all my builds, but the Rayon is a step up from cotton. Like going from a Ford to a Ferrari

Their normal pricing is not too bad either and now free shipping over $35, and they have some nice flavours, I was running out of 3 so thought I may as well get the ID discount.

I'll have to check them out at some point, cheers Bob

Well after sorting out my final mix and match Nemmies (the switches, locking rings and purple tube arrived today). Decided to do a bit more "Rayoning". Did a dragon nano coil with rayon in one of the Russians that sits on top of my GP Paps. Was a bit disappointed at first with the vapour production, until I checked the battery - 3.1 volts, no wonder it was under par Popped in a fresh battery and back to fogging up the living room. Next up a basic micro coil got the rayon treatment in the Kayfun Nano, clouds yet again. Finally had a go with the Kraken, managed to get the grub screw out with a bit of persuasion, so I could run dual coils in it. Comes out at 1.3 ohms, with dual micro coils and dual vertical rayon wicks - this thing chucks out the flavour and vapour, got a bit nic dizzy using it

Do I love Rayon, YES I DO

Those are Li-ion Panasonics not meant for mods, just flashlights and stuff.

I found the rayon to be horrible, artificial tasting from the wick burning. Use it a little longer before you make your decision. The pads are terrific takes building a KFL from voodoo practice to a procedure.

Which rayon did you get mate ??

The stuff from Sallys is supposed to be the better stuff, I've been using it now for a couple of weeks and to be honest I'm totally sold on it. If the rayon is burning it's because the wick isn't dense enough and it's lost contact with the inside of the coil. Plus if the wick is twisted, this can cause burning too. I've been using the cotton pads for well over a year, with superb results, but within 2 days of getting the Rayon, the cotton pads went to the back of the vape cupboard. I've run 5 tank loads through one of my Kayfuns on a Rayon wick, using a really coil gunking juice - it's still going strong. With cotton, I was lucky to get 2 tank loads with this particular juice.

Here`s my little update for today... I saw on grants page that he suggests using silica for the GVC, so cos i had vaped the tank empty, i built it using a bog standard coil and silica. Filled her up and fired away, I have to say that the flavour is totally different now, more creamy and definitely more pronounced vanilla now. Only problem is...I forgot to check the ohm`s before i trimmed the coil legs, so i am stuck with a 1.1 coil. Not complainig though, this build has made a massive improvment.

Okay, i still had time to play so i thought i would fix my mistake on one of the kayfuns, with the rayon. The coil was fine, so took out the old wick, and did it how Ian suggested, really managed to cram it in, and kept it nice and fluffy. Filled with twilight from S/G, and my oh my, It sounded like bloody syria with all the cracking and popping And the vapour and flavour WOW Thanks to my mate Ian, i am looking at vaping in a totally new light now.

Still had a bit of playtime left, so i thought what the heck, lets do another So i replaced the nano coil in the rocket with a micro, and again really stuffed the rayon through the coil, filled up with my fave juice, and again crackle pop fizzle etc THEN wham The flavour is absolutely bleeding bloody AM-AZING Ian my good friend, you have found a cracker with this stuff mate.

I normally stuff it to the point that I have to hold the coil to stop it moving. Like I said, as soon as you need some more, just let me know. Think, I'll have a bash at one of my un-loved drippers tomorrow - one of the dual coil ones, that should really get some serious rain clouds going

I have got three spare tube Ian, It`s the switches etc what i need I am fine with just the one mate, as i have got my other mods to keep him company.

If i am honest ian the reason i did it that way is its the kayfun with the dodgy neg block, so i just went with a basic build. BUT tomorrow is a brand new day, and i will get a micro on it if it kills me, with rayon of course.
