Been busy today.
I had a Kayfun 3.1 with a leaky base, another Kayfun with a dodgy 510 pin and a Kayfun Nano that wasn't feeding juice properly. So after cleaning and rewicking a couple of my other Kayfuns, decided to do a bit of modifying.
First up, got out the Dremmel and opened up the juice channels on the Nano. Then completely disassembled the leaky 3.1 base. Finally took apart the Kayfun with the dodgy 510.
Then I fitted the chimney, tank and top cap from the leaky 3.1 to the Nano - never really liked the small liquid volume of the Nano. Atty number 1 modified.
Then I took the insulator from the 3.1's centre pin, gave it a bit of a file down, fitted it to the Kayfun with the dodgy 510. Atty number 2 modified.
Finally bagged up the re-usable parts from the 3.1 for spares.
Had another look at "Bob" - but it looks like he's a terminal case, so he'll probably end up in my spares bag. Looks like the leak is unfixable, without an Act of God. I know where it's coming from, but there's no way to fix it![]()
It's one of the reasons I buy drippers but very few tanks from FT, prefer to buy from UK vendors, that way if something goes wrong I can complain, the main problem is that FT don't normally say who the clone makers are, so you don't know if you are getting one from a reputable cloner like Wotofo (A-Mod ones), I'm hoping they will be cloning the KF 4
