Just returned from my annual physical, and my doc (well known in town) seemed genuinely pleased, even surprised, that I haven't returned to cigs. Maybe it's my passing the two-year mark, but for the first time, he wanted to know more about vaping and how it might help his other patients who come in reaking of cigs. I take his interest as a positive sign.

I told him I'd send him an article and some V4L cards. I've got plenty of cards, of course, but which article? I'm not sure it has to be a published study, but I need something with a more professional, balanced tone. Anyone happen to have a link to a good intro. to vaping article for doctors and maybe even their patients?

On a personal level I argue my/our point of view with all of my colleagues (medical students residents and attendings) that I think will have an open ear and not black list me :)

"Show me the long term ill effects of vaporizing nicotine if you would? Are you aware of the Snus studies in Sweden?" Usually draws a frustrated blank from the nay sayers. And my gf HATES smoking and being a medical student and quite intelligent, has come to refer to what I do as "vaping" and is no longer bothered by it at all :) And a close doctor friend of mine feels the same about it. (struggled with cigs himself)

But I packet or research would be great!

Jeffree,

You can just about pick any article from:

Yes, I'm still around. Mostly just reading.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone.

I have had good responses from the medical community here when it comes to ecigs. I used to work in a retail ecig store and the owner actually spoke at a medical conference and was very well received. He put together a packet of info that was to be put in waiting rooms of 27 local physicians offices. Personally, I had a trip to the ER not too long ago and when the doc was gathering info he asked if I smoked and I said "no, but I use nicotine." He asked how I managed that and I told him I used ecigs and he smiled, nodded and said "good."
