My wife and I want to go camping for a few days, anywhere in the PA, NY, CT, or MD area. Maybe other states too but the drive can't be more than 3 hours from NYC. We have been camping only once before, and since I thought a state park campsite was a good deal, I may have ruined it for good. I don't mind roughing it, and neither does my wife but the state site had bathrooms which did not have screen doors on them. She was in the ladies room when a large spider fell on top of her. I heard screaming echo through the site, and now she refuses to go to a campsite without decent bathrooms. I understand her pain but I am not sure there are campsites with bug-less bathrooms. <sigh> Yes, we are city-dwellers. Go ahead, poke fun.
I guess my point is, if anyone is familiar with private campsites which have exceptional facilities (just showers and restrooms) on the east coast, let me know! I wouldn't mind if the place had a pool or a lake, but those are optional. The deal maker or breaker is the bug-free toilets and showers.
