I recently invested in the Rebel 3 starter kit with battery, tank and coil. Now I learn that if you buy from Vaporfi they got you by the balls because you cannot interchange product with other manufacturers. It's like they corner the market and trap you . Is $17.99 plus $3.95 shipping a fair price for a 5 pack of coils.? Does anyone know if another kind of coil would work in the Rebel 3 tank. Thanks.

Welcome.

I have good and bad news for you. Let me take a deep breath and get back.

Basically Vaporfi don't make anything at all, they take readily available products, re-brand them and then utterly rip you off.

Vaporfi have nobody by the balls.... they just sell exorbitantly over-priced products

I bet you we can find exactly the same coils for under $10. I reckon I can do $6 actually.

How does that sound?

I'll come back, @David J

Thank you so much. I look forward to your answer. Yes, I just found that out that you can only buy overpriced Vaporfi products. Someone who vapes told me after I purchased the Rebel 3 that she recently purchased the Rebel 2 which has been discontinued and cannot find coils for those tanks. She found out that Vaporfi ripped off the Smoktech tanks once avail for $ 29.00 Vapofi selling sold those tanks for $49.99. Wish I could return my Rebel 3 after hearing these horror stories. Thanks for finding out for me where I can get replacement coils for the Rebel 3 elsewhere. Really appreciate hearing back from you.

OMG I just spent $119 and looked up the mod and found that Vaporfi rips off other companies. That same battery is $40 bucks. Wow I feel like a fool that just got taken big time. What about the coils for the Rebel 2 tanks the smoketech rip off do you do which coils that tank can use? Thanks a lot for your feed back. Wish I came here first before buying ,lol

The Rebel 2 tank is less easy to pin down. It's similar to the Aspire Nautilus but I cannot say the coils are 100% identical. It could be a Smok version of the Nautilus.

However, if your friend bought a real Aspire Nautilus tank, the coils are half the price of Vaporfi so it would pay for itself quickly. The fact they are discontinuing the coils is a bonus in the long term....

Hmmmm.... that kit, on Vaporfi's website, looks an awful lot like an Innokin SVD paired with an Aspire Nautilus, but the coils are a bit different... that juice flow adjust is from the Joyetech line of coils... I would try a Nautilus coil... just one... to see if it works...

No question, the 'mod' is some version of an Innokin SVD (the original one).

The thing with making expensive buys is to make the most of them but not compound the situation.

For example, use the mod but change the tank if you can't buy the coils.

You can always change the tanks (apart from all-in-one systems) and sometimes dropping $25 on a new tank can save <$100 over the next year or so on replacement atomizers.

@David J , you can use all sorts of tanks on the battery/mod part of your kit.
I have a few tanks which effectively made themselves obsolete because even if you could find the coils (replacement atomizer heads) some greedy company will be marking them up because they are seemingly rare.

We had a situation in the UK where a shop took an old Innokin coil and priced them a $6.50 each. Last time I bought them, they were $9.00 for a five pack.

This is the way of the e-cig world.

I wasted $800 before I worked out how things work. I thought it was a good system until I realized the 40+ reviews for them on the internet were basically fake reviews fueling the commission and scam marketing that goes on all the time.

Just know, if you have that original Rebel 2 mod, that it's only good up to 15 watts... and down to 1.0 Ohms. You're not gonna throw a Limitless XL in there. You'll be better served with a Nautilus, Triton Mini, or older Kanger Protank. They're also great for a lot if RTAs like Kayfun Lite Plus or Russian 91%. I've got a DID sitting on my old SVD.

I agree we all have made probably a few "vape mistakes"- purchased an item and then found out that it's not all that it's cracked up to be - the key is to do as much research as possible - when I started vaping sub-ohming wasn't the norm amongst vapers, whereas now nearly every manufacturer has a sub-ohm device available. I bought numerous MTL devices, before finally trying direct lung vaping, and now they all sit on a shelf looking forlorn - I've given some pieces away to my vapefam, but keep a few in case I revert to that style of vaping in the future. We all live and learn!

Newbie tax. It's happened to many. Best e-cig purchase is the one you do excessive homework on first. I read ECF for about two weeks before buying my first setup. Unfortunately, I had to upgrade within a couple months.

Sorry you got swindled. Are there any brick and mortar, independently owned vape shops local to you? My region (50mi radius) has over 50 different stores. The majority are very helpful with new vapers.

Welcome and glad you joined. Many other kit sellers do the same thing. The best way to go:
1. Reg mod w/ 510 connection.
2. Almost any 510 atomizer with rebuildable coil option.
3. DIY your juice.
